Wednesday's wild winners 8/3

It's August. Hot. Humid. And soccer. But fear not, we will continue to provide picks all season, with the exception of a couple days when I am traveling.

Wednesday features a $10K Guaranteed pick 4 on races 8-11, with a low 14% takeout.
The play: 2579/14/1349/6= $32
And 579/1/134/26= $18 Total invested $50

Analysis: Race 8: Lots of contenders here, but nobody whose form exactly instills confidence so we have to go deep.
Race 9: I was tempted to single 1) Powerful Cam after a dominating win at the bottom. Plus, Russ Swartz has been en fuego lately. But, he is moving up and we have been waiting for 4) Currently Flying to go forward. I would hate to see a repeat of my I've Got Life play from last week
Race 10: Again, lots of contenders, but not many with recent wins. 2)Chang Dynasty has made breaks in three of his last three starts. He'll still be favored. Value in this one.
Race 11: 6) SJ's Manawa Sam moves up off two straight life marks. I know many 'cappers don't like older horses coming off life marks, but that is logic I have never understood. 2)Anastasia Wildfire can fly late, so she goes on my saver ticket.

Here are the rest of the picks:

Race 1: 3 Master Lad Pro- Gets a lukewarm call here; 6 Going Hollywood- Only NW1L8 has some back class, but hasn’t shown much since returning; 1 Valentino’s Peace- Must consider Swifty from the rail.

Race 2: 4 Lucky Rockn Horse- Has shown moderate closes since coming here and may have more; 1 Classy Rocket- Improved off a decent qualifier; 2 Rydan- Well-connected freshman makes his debut.

Race 3: 2 Jh Action- Has been hanging around & gets his best raceway post; 5 Yocky- I drove his old man Josh Gibson a few times, how’s that for an angle? 8 Sari Sue- Nice filly is hampered by the snowman.

Race 4: 4 Carolina Song- Contended in local debut off a big drop and a rest; 3 Southview Don- Seems to be improving; 2 Race Track Cruiser- Just missed from the extreme outside last time, but no value; 7 Ron Jeremy- He’s the class of the field, but can he overcome the bad draw?

Race 5: 2 My Mystique- Racing well when she stays flat, which is not quite often enough; 3 Super Rapper- Should be on the chooch here; 6 Go Merrily Along- Gets some class relief which should help.

Race 6: 2 Mr Kite- Wake-up call last time, he can handle these; 1 Eddie C Hanover- Still green and gets class relief, may go forward; 5 Blissfull Court- Seems to be getting tighter with each start.

Race 7: 9 Camdestin- Move to a catch driver will be Sugg-cessful; 3 Boogie With Stu- Will he hold together or bounce off a very nice Q? 7 Desired Entry- Has always done good work and appears very professional; 8 Sand Summer- Has been facing better, but this draw makes things tough.

Race 8: 9 Date Worthy- Has to depend on the fractions, but if she fires, She’ll be good; 5 Lucca’s Revenge- Would benefit from a two-hole trip; 7 Pray To Me- Starting to put it all together.

Race 9: 1 Powerful Cam- Moves up off an impressive win and will be somewhat forward early; 6 Doowrah’s Trifold- Just a hunch; 4 Currently Flying- Just keeps hanging around. Will score soon.

Race 10: 1 Zakman- Drops to the level of his last win and gets the rail; 9 Big Valley- Has been competitive and should get a good trip; 3 Gina Marie P- Drops back down and is a major player; 4 Heez Ruthless N- Is actually the most consistent of these and I don’t quite get the 12-1 ML.

Race 11: 6 Sj’s Manawa Sam- Red hot driver and horse look for 3rd straight life mark; 2 Anastasia Wildfire- Got caught in traffic last time; 7 Llc- Always hangs around, but post hurts him.

Race 12: 4 E C K- Drops to the level of his last win, six back; 6 Date Knight K- Robin chose him over the #2 and #3; 1 Ben’s Big Bird- Third back and the rail make him a contender.

Race 13: 4 Ramember- Has had no shot at all with his recent posts; 7 Snooz Attack- Shows some good lines, but this draw concerns me; 1 Mac Only Bill- Always hangs around, maybe he wins from the rail; 9 Auto Pilot- Has really been slumping, but should get a ground saving journey here.
