Monday musings

An interesting Monday card with some very playable, albeit low-level races.
Monday features a $10,000 Guaranteed Pick 4 Pool with a 14% Takeout.

My play is: 256/19/25/1239=$48

Analysis: Race 8- I really like 2)Contech, but 5) R Cowboy has tons of back class and can strike at any time. 6) Sturgeon gets big class relief

Race 9: Very tempted to single Rebas Big Boy, but 1)Polo Joe has tons of class and will get a very good trip in this one.

Race 10: 2)Ridge Park is a late developer, but very good, while 5)Taxed is a quality youngster. Two-horse race.

Race 11: 2 Pure Fantasy is my top choice in an evenly matched group. I could easily back this up with a ticket where I single rebas Big Boy and go real deep in this leg when I actually go to the window. Good Luck!

Here are the rest of the picks:

Race 1: 3 Sams Yankee- Has leveled in his last two against better, but still fits well; 5 Cobblestone- They opened up the class for her; 1 Uplaythegametowin- Could be anything for her 85-year-old owner/trainer/driver.

Race 2: 4 Man I’m Good- Move to Noble returns him to his bottom of the form form; 5 Three To get Ready- Might just go with the class relief; 8 Camdestin- Closed a bit against better from outside, value-adder may be worth a flyer.

Race 3: 3 Magnaflo- Risky, but I will take a chance off a qualifier that showed big improvement; 1 Mr Bing- Drops out of fair stakes & gets Noble and the rail; 6 Sam’s Profile- Straight non-winner of one in against maiden claimers.

Race 4: 1 Key Western- Towers over most of this field on memories alone; 3 One Eyed Willie- Moves up off an improving form cycle; 4 Heez Ruthless N- Another back-classer, though his form is suspect right now; 6 Dragoninthekash- Flat effort last time after two very good ones has me concerned.

Race 5: 9 Jailhouse Dale- Has been better with the hopples & may break through tonight; 3 Abc Flower- Gets fresh hands & may improve; 4 Muckmuck Woodchuck- Josh chose, though Q was not as good as #7, who listed him too.

Race 6: 3 Diehl’s Deal- Reunited with Charlino. ‘Nuff said; 6 Thomas Be Quick- Noble chose over #7, which is a surprise; 7 Trytopass Sam- Moves outside, let’s see if Aaron wakes him up.

Race 7: 9 Ts’s Sharpshooter- Big improvement last time, may post a minor upset; 5 Search The Falcon- Gets his worst post draw in two months; 1 Israeli Hall- May get a small piece skimming the pylons; 3 Laag The Mile- Fits with his best, but is somewhat inconsistent.

Race 8: 2 Contech- NW1L8 was fried by last effort, another chance; 6 Sturgeon- Class relief below the level of the last win could mean caviar tonight; 5 R Cowboy- Back class, NW1L8 and Aaron, but he needs to do more work.

Race 9: 9 Rebas Big Boy- Two straight huge efforts since Nobel took over, a third tonight; 1 Polo Joe- Classy old guy will make good use of the rail; 2 He’s All Art- Doesn’t always fire, but when he does he is very good.

Race 10: 2 Ridge Park- It’s taken awhile, but he is finally racing to his pedigree; 5 Taxed- Was solid moving up to this level and should be my choice’s major threat; 9 Tkr’s Metro Specs- Good maiden win and now The Swartz is with him; 6 Sabastin Seacrest- Not a huge fan, but must use him on the ticket with Aaron driving.

Race 11: 2 Pure Fantasy- Has been knockin at the door and may beat these; 1 Liltycantbedenied- Upward form cycle makes him a solid contender; 9 Nikos- Tends to hang around and may get a good trip behind “Lilty” for value.

Race 12: 2 Tic Tic Tic Boom- Has a big move, but needs to sustain it or time it better; 3 Miss Port Foal Leo- I like the driver change to Merriman; 6 Bella Bionda- Has leveled but may wake up with Charlino driving.

Race 13: 6 Lucifer Bluegrass- Massive class relief gets him the call, but he’s not invincible; 5 Townline Powerful- Is better than he has shown of late; 4 Moon River Dell- Has been faster with Lasix and now gets Noble, huge plus;2 Cunning Design- Had been very consistent before the break last start, gets another chance.
