Wednesday's wild winners (7/13)

It's a crazy week, so I may miss a few posts this week, as I did w/Saturday's card. Sorry. We did hit 15 winners on the weekend, which isn't bad. I was also reminded that sheet metal is easily repaired while on a family reunion with my wife's family. She had gone to pick up our daughter and was involved in an accident. Everyone is OK, except the car, which suffered a lot of damage. Her family was shocked at how calm and relaxed I was, considering I am a pretty tempermental, cranky old SOB. But it's simple. Becki and Dana were not hurt. And the car is being repaired. So, other than hundreds of poker chips being thrown throughout the vehicle, it's all good. As soon as the damaged wheel gets replaced, I am off to Vernon Downs for an HHYF Youth Camp for as week. I have some time free in the evenings and hope to get all the picks done.
I return Friday night and will post Monday, and then leave first thing Saturday for a soccer tourney in Cinci. Then things calm down a bit.

Wednesday has a $10,000 Guaranteed Pick 4 on races 8-11, with a 14% takeout.

The play-124/456/145/1= $27
AND 12/456/145/5= $18. Total play $45

Analysis;
Race 8: A wide open affair and if I had the guts to really single Master Wheels in the 11th, i would go deeper. 2) Currently Flying moves to a barn that is lights out with first starters, 1) Step by Step gets class relief and 5) Cousin Mikey popped a big mile two back.
Race 9: 6) Angelo Kosmos has not had a lot of pop, but has contended consistently and gets Noble here. 4) Lucca's Revenge gets a change of scenery and he usually responds to that. 5) Go Merrily Along has actually been more competitive than the top pick, but seems a step or two slower.
Race 10: 1) Rapid Pursuit is eligible at time of entry off two straight wins. He is sharp, but so is 4)Yankeedoodledandee with underrated Daren Harvey. 5)Fancy Schmansy is just a better animal, but he is sooooo inconsistent.
Race 11: Great classification work by McKirgan on 1)Master Wheels. He gets ETE and class relief after beating far better Saturday. J.D. Wengerd's trainee, Near The Limit also gets ETE, but has not faced quite as tough and he has historically had a bit of trouble trotting the turns here.

Here are the rest of the picks. Good luck.

Race 1: 3 Hogue’s Rockie- Lukewarm call, but if memory serves, last year’s win was at this level; 2 He Cantab You- Freshened and looked good in the qually; 1 Jo- Jeckyll & Hyde trotter could be anything here.

Race 2: 1 Power Stroke Chip- Getting it together after missing his 4-year-old campaign; 6 Jazzy’s Boy- Seems to be in an upward form cycle; 5 Cummingsandgoings- I like mares who close willingly.

Race 3: 2 Medoland Jesse- Has been racing poorly from bad posts against better; 7 S F Spiderman- Has raced well for Noble in the past; 6 Gate Keeper- Very solid when racing at the bottom and should contend.

Race 4: 1 Thisonesforujunior- Has been competitive every start this year; 5 A Legend At Last- Has shown some ability and is just getting started; 6 Debonair Flair- Did close decently two back, but would like to see more work; 4 Vr Rocky Top- Raced well from the snowman in his return home.

Race 5: 1 Beware Of The Diva- Just missed with a solid closing effort in last; 2 Cause To Smile- Has done well since returning off 5-month break; 4 Kevin’s Lil Vixen- Fast following mile in OSS may not mean much.

Race 6: 9 Northmedo Hoo-ray- Seems to fit well in this one; 2 Oceana Hanover- Had no chance with the draw, even w/drop.12-1, I’d put her on top. She won’t be; 4 High Gear Speed- Gut says he improves here.

Race 7: 9 Jl Nate The Great- I love the eligible-at-time-of-entry angle; 2 Moon River Dell- Usually contend ast this level, but has been here a long time; 3 Shannons Boy Scout- Looked like his old self last race; 6 Ben’s Big Bird- Injury scratch is a concern, but didn’t miss a lot of time.

Race 8: 2 Currently Flying- First time Ehrhardt angle is huge even though Dan chose off; 1 Step By Step- Class relief and the rail; 5 Cousin Mikey- Seems to be improving, at least on paper.

Race 9: 6 Angelo Kosmos- Noble gives him the winning edge; 4 Lucca’s Revenge- Changes barns as often as Steinbrenner changed managers, but fits; 5 Go Merrily Along- Has done everything but win lately.

Race 10: 1 Rapid Pursuit- Had no problem moving up last week. Very sharp; 4 Yankeedoodledandee- In an upward form cycle; 5 Fancy Schmansy- Should really be better than he has shown; 8 Lil Dudes Mach Up- Also eligible-at-time-of-entry, but the snowman hurts.

Race 11: 1 Master Wheels- Very well-classified, ETE means class relief off a win; 5 Near The Limit- Same situation as McKirgan’s trotter, but overall resume not as good; Rain- Likes it here, but faces tough ones.

Race 12: 6 Triggerhappyfellow- Hoping for a return to bottom of the form form in drop to the bottom; 4 Ohio Star- Maybe the barn change helps. Maybe; 5 Cb Attack- Needed the last start & may be better fresh.

Race 13: 3 Tieler Bea Hotspur- Good draw, does work, gets Noble; 1 Little Big Man Vmw- Comes off two good efforts and gets the rail here; 9 C And C Hoorah- Dittos, but with the 2nd tier; 6 Tally Ho Don- Very consistent, but moves far enough outside to leave questions.
