Monday, July 18

The crazy week continues as I post from Cincinnati. We missed the National Pick 4, going 3 of 4, which is disappointing, but I made a decision to leave off the Yonkers inside horses, based on their form, knowing it could bite me in the behind. Oh well.

Here are Monday's $10K Pick 4 picks and plays. Trying something different here. Sorry, no time for in-depth analysis.

128/45/26/4= $12
1/145/26/24= $12
12/5/269/24= $12
12/45/2/124= $12

Hoping to hit this one (chalky) multiple times.

Here are the rest of the picks:

Race 1: 4 Cinder Sierra- Faces a softer group on paper and may lose her maiden tag tonight; 5 Montmarte Hall- Always hangs around, but needs to do more; 3 Little Treasures- Overcame the shuffle job last time. Consider.

Race 2: 3 Abby- May be better than normal based on her lines; 7 Oh Justice- Raced well in career debut, gets a-nother chance; 4 We Belong Together- Looks good on paper, but driver hasn’t won since 1980, a Gisseresque stat.

Race 3: 6 Ridge Park- Moved up to face these in last & raced well from outside; 7 Cruisin The Waves- Is actually sharper than my choice, but draw is a killer; 1 Thisonesforjunior- Very consistent & a rail, if he handles the move up.

Race 4: 3 Search The Falcon- Lukewarm choice in a (charitably) lukewarm group; 4 Coin Of The Realm- Four straight checks, only the top pick has more than two; 8 Inquisitive Me- First time Nobel may mean improvement; 1 Pure Fantasy- In a group like this, the rail can be huge.

Race 5: 5 Grandpa’s Jojoben- Improving and still very green; 8 El Cortez- Too many questions, especially from the snowman; 6 Little Lee- First time Aaron and Stahl choosing the Sherman horse means nothing.

Race 6: 4 Mr Fenton- Needed the 1st seasonal start & should easily handle these; 7 He Cantab You- Freshened, but may need to be a bit tighter; 1 Red Radar Gun- Myrick is always a threat from the rail & horse hasn’t seen it in ages.

Race 7: 1 Nf Native Lady- The Heit of expectation for a hot barn; 3 Sky Strikes- Aaron’s choice over the #9 has to mean something; 4 Ron Jeremy- Not what he once was and neither is the horse; 9 Hoosier Lion- Kaneoka may be on a roll after a second at The Meadows in a Lady’s Race.

Race 8: 1 Museum Piece- Racing well and they opened it up for him; 2 Ge’s Gilmour- The qualifiers have been impressive, but…; 8 Blue My Mind- Fits well in all ways but the post draw.

Race 9: 5 Firm Jet- Talk about a tough trip. Last time? Yikes; 4 Vr Rocky Top- Showed improvement last time and is a major player; 1 Man I’m Good- Moves up off a win, but Wyatt chose off to the #4.

Race 10: 2 Angelo Kosmos- Just needs to finish. Maybe he will. No Joshing; 6 Sj’s Manawa Sam- Has really turned things around lately; 9 Audit- Big-time class drop, but still unproven at this level; 5 Diehl’s Deal- Another chance at a level where he should be pretty good.

Race 11: 4 Bell Valley Diva- Henry Beachy to Dan Noble. What could I be thinking? 2 Suited n Booted- Coming off a lifetime best for the new barn; 1 Israeli Hall- Don’t dismiss from the rail.

Race 12: 6 Royal Sugar- Has issues, but they opened up the class for her and she was a nice mare; 4 Altesse- Looking for a Noble effort first time with Dan; 1 Shekinah Glory- Consider with class relief and the rail.

Race 13: 8 Westedge Matt- Big last panels may allow him to overcome the snowman; 1 At Daybreak- Does work, needs to time it properly; 5 Egotistic Pro- Showing signs of life lately; 6 Native Fate- Figures with his best.
