Courageous Lady Card

I am so excited to be back in the tux and in the winners circle doing picks that I gave up FREE Columbus Crew tickets for Saturday. Coaching clinic at OSU Fri-Sat and then to the Flying Turns for cigars and handicapping.

Courageous Lady is interesting- Some Girls Do does not have to win the first heat, although for now I have her on top. If Mark MacDonald really switched to OK Dynasty, do not dismiss her chances! Robert Young won the Breeders Crown at Northfield with That'll Be Me (A $20 horse I gave anyone who would listen) and has a legit shot with this mare. In the 2nd heat, more wide open, but I like the Seeknman horse- she is a speedster and draws well.

Here is a Pick 4, "Bookended" by the Courageous Lady heats

2/1357/238/234=$36
26/15/36/24-$16
(Yes it's over budget, but I want to hit this baby and with the 2 in the first leg, the price will be short).

Here are the rest of the picks. Back at it live, there may be changes so watch the broadcast! Good luck!

Race 1: 2 Bo Belle- Well-connected and did some work in the seasonal debut; 1 Little Treasure- Gets a good draw and a catch-driver, which may be a “tell,” 8 Mr Bing- Just a hunch, he has some experience, but current form is poor.

Race 2: 9 Count Dale- Classic 3rd back angle doe a trotter who has done some work, 2nd tier concerns me; 4 DRIFT Away- Good qualifier and showed ability at two; 2 Tansi- Qualified for Night of Champs at two, “Q” is questionable.

Race 3: 3 Gyraider- Drops to the level of his last win and gets a lukewarm call in a very competitive group; 4 Phagus Hall- NW1L8 was second to better last time; 6 Laughing Is An Art- Look for improvement with Mark Mac in the bike.

Race 4: 4 Category Six- Gets class relief below the level of his last win and gets that Merriman guy, too; 2 Next idol- Faces slightly lesser, worth considering; 1 Scoozi- Third back, good speed and the rail, will he last? 5 Tactical Dreamer N- Gets MacDonald, but Aaron chose off, but he figures with his best.

Race 5: 4 Sharp Shuttle- Has that big closing kick & may offer some value; 7 Chang Dynasty- Gets class relief & is racing well, just not super sharp, likely overbet; 5 Shannons Boy Scout- Not sure of his bottom, but worth a chance.

Race 6: 6 Iknowhatboyslike- April 23 was a defining moment for this one; 1 Lucca’s Revenge- Will be on the point, but missed a week; 8 Rose Run Ivan- Snowman hampers him, but I don’t think we’ve seen all he has.

Race 7: 4 Whispers Art- Moves up in exceptional form; 6 Grammas Guy- Consider if Dave actually drives him, but he will be bet to nothing; 3 S F Stampede- Can hang around with these to be a bottom of the ticket animal; 1 Stand N Shout- May well be on the point, but for how long?

Race 8: Courageous Lady Division 1: 2 Some Girls Do- Has won 7 this year, the other 6 have won 2; 6 Ok Dynasty- Robert Young doesn’t ship here to lose, interesting driver switch re: Aaron & Mark Mac; 5 Hi Maintenanchic- Showed speed in 2011 debut.

Race 9: 1 Ken Ubr Dream- Arguably getting class relief, price is the key to a play; 7 Dax Hanover- Will be flying late and must be considered at a price; 5 Bodandy Andy- Form may be leveling after his last two efforts, a maybe.

Race 10: 3 Gordie How- Should be awesome after drawing 7-8-6-7-7 last five; 8 Red White And Crue- Best horse, worst post, big maybe; 9 Caramel Dumpling- Major player if he fires, may be closer early; 2 Rocco’s Revenge- Moves up in very good form.

Race 11: Courageous Lady Division 2: 2 Southwest- There’s a reason they don’t assign seats, he won’t be taking one; 4 Stash The Cash- raced well Delaware Fund races, a player; 3 I Kill Time- Good two-year-old & a couple nice qualifiers, the likely favorite.

Race 12: 3 Broadway Fame- Super-duper, ultra-consistent; 7 Pan Au Chocolat- Hasn’t missed a beat off the claim, but post hurts; 1 Mike Lanigan- Is he just a trailer filler, or with his early speed, a contender? I say the latter.

Race 13: 9 Show Me Big Slick- Nice qualifier, but may need a start or two; 4 Shackleton Hanover- Crushed by the post moving up to this level, another chance; 2 At Daybreak- Third back and a decent post, a maybe; 6 C And C Hoorah- The Stahl-Brown combination has been surprisingly good, but this is a big move up.
