Wednesday- Wild and Wondeful

(Oh, no, that's west Virginia, sorry). An interesting card with some obvious winners. Although I wish there was more basketball. (Column Aside #1,not that I want any of you confusing me with Norman Chad). The CBI Tourney starts its best of three championship series tonight between powerhouses Creigthon and Oregon. My play? Take a pass. It's a best of three, dude).
Ha d a great weekend and want to thank VCU Coach Shaka Smart for allowing me to make the April mortgage payment early. Karma time- whoever wins Butler-VCU Saturday wins it all Monday night. (Column Aside #2-NIT semis are Tuesday night. Bet the house on Alabama -2. They are young, getting better and Trevor Releford is the real deal). Oh, yes, and now some Northfield picks. Good luck.

Race 1: 8 High Gear Speed- Favorable driver change may allow him to overcome snowman; 1 Forever Friends- Solid player from the rail, but not as fast; 7 The Count- Good work since dropping down here.

Race 2: 1 Cat’s Run- Gets a value call in a very well-matched group; 3 Gate Keeper- Can compete, but not convinced Wyatt is the Key Master; 2 B Afflicted- Gets Noble after a flat effort moving up to these.

Race 3: 6 Artistic Dreamer- Is clearly improving and anyone can win this; 7 Three Five Seven- Moves up, but not really; 1 Ron Jeremy- Must be considered from rail, but may be reduced to a supporting role.

Race 4: 5 Crown Time Rambo- Looking to beat the likely favorite ad he may; 1 Jack Maverick- NW1L8, actually NW1L10, can’t use on top at this price; 4 Monkey Off My Back- The lack of a thirty-day rule makes this one problematic; 6 Dynamagic- Third back, but must do better. Much better. Really.

Race 5: 3 Spiced Pork- I have absolutely no clue in this one, decent Q; 5 Mr Bing- Was credible at two; 9 Corporate Politics- Freshened for four years and a better Q than the 1, also off that long.

Race 6: 4 Oceana Hanover- Nearly beat better last time and is in as NW1L8; 2 Hollys Wild Thing- Will probably be overbet; 1 Key Of Ahhh- Gets Noble after more qualifiers than an English Major.

Race 7: 1 Shackleton Hanover- As we keep saying, a totally different animal when he is on the point; 2 Rapid City- Gets a post; 3 Right On Time- Third back and massive class relief; 6 Nascart- Looking to add value, but will probably hit the “all” button.

Race 8: 1 Jackson One- Hard to ignore the last line and the ETE; 4 Chocolate Crush- Will fresh hands pick him up? 3 Break The Bank- Racing well at the gateway to Kings Island, as I call it.

Race 9: 2 Viking Mia- Gate-to-wire for this eligible at time of entry; 1 Royal Cat- he’s been in some fast miles, but he’s not winning them; 8 Chewey- Not sure how good he is, we will find out from the snowman.

Race 10: 5 Stox Up Bluegrass- Has been doing very good work against some sharp ones; 9 Getherdone Sue- Usually does work and can add value; 1 Matt-scoot-n-bunny- Should-be-good-from-the-rail; 2 Vivacious Raider- Good draw, but not consistent enough to put much higher on the ticket.

Race 11: 5 Garland’s Brat- Honest trotter gets a slight call; 3 Barbazon- Moves up, but has been the model of consistency; 4 Sam Has Class – Fresh horse, good Q (Dunkster often breaks on rail- danger)

Race 12: 6 Mattress Dancing- Class dropper may need a start or two, but faces a soft group; 4 Cn Loufly Loretta- Don’t see her winning, but is easily be on ticket; 2 Hillcrest Crystal- Best post in months.

Race 13: 5 Powerful Cam- Best bet with Noble against these; 7 Avenue A- Class relief helps, post does not; 2 Eagle Jacob- Drops to the level of a lifetime best win; 1 Rd Rustler- Needs tojavascript:void(0) sustain his work.

Unreal- 'Bama fails to make foul shots throughout and wins by 1. Oh well. Leads to an interesting NIT Final play. Maybe we cash enough at Nfld to get 'err done.

That's more like it eight winners, ROI right at $200% and a good priced winner in Viking Mia. About time.
