Saturday Considerations

My last card before the start of two-a-days with the Lady Lions. So, if I start looking a bit tired the next couple weeks, up at 6 Am, train 8-10, to work, back to train in the afternoon, and back to the track for the races. But I get energized by it, even if I don't sleep much. So, to paraphrase the later John Wooden. Don't let the things you can't control control the things you can control. Good luck. See you in the winners circle!

Race 1: 4 Actuality- Slight call due to the connections, improving; 2 Lone Star Winner- The other main player is putting it together, too; 3 Oh Heather- Good Dam! A rare Conger sighting.

Race 2: 4 Maggie’s Son A- Down under import could be anything; 7 Camcoder- Probably the better horse, not as effective out here; 2 Howyadoinpal- Raced credibly in return & draws better.

Race 3: 2 Master Buckin Uhl- Improved draw gets him to the winners circle; 4 Giulio- Still not always steering, but very sharp; 3 Online Auction- Nicest Bolyard trotter since Rachel’s Rival.

Race 4: 2 Laughing Is An Art- Good post and first time Charlino; 4 Liftoff Bayama- Form is improving and can add value; 1 Knockout Sahbra- Always contends from inside, especially with Deaton; 9 Western Outfitter- One of these days, Ken, one of these days.

Race 5: 2 Sand Honors- Gets Charlino first time, that’s pretty NEAT; 3 Ge’s Antonio- Class relief should help him a lot; 1 Apache Viking- Usually does some work, solid player from the rail.

Race 6: 5 Kinnick- Winstead could put me up -- he would be even money & he would still win; 4 Hickory Hunter- Has been caught in some big miles and I just don’t see 10-1; 1 Heez Ruthelss N- Better toward the front and hasn’t drawn well since the Indians were a major league team.

Race 7: 2 Elm Grove Gerson- was flying when he made the break, another chance; 1 Bus Fare- Drops to the level of his last pari-mutuel win; 3 Search The Falcon- Always hanging around, fits.

Race 8: 7 Norton- Has done everything but win over his last six, big mile last week; 1 Valentinos Peace- Has his best results with Charlino; 3 Cat’s Run- Moves up & must show his best here.

Race 9: 1 Im A Rustler Too- One more chance- was okay last time, will he roll forward? 6 Category Six- Charlino’s choice gets his best post since the scratch, 3rd back, too; 3 Gordie How- Always does work, doesn’t always get results.

Race 10: 1 Jailhouse Scorpion- Moves to Cox barn and may recover from a tough Sires outing; 6 R Cowboy- Sugg chose over 3 and 9; 2 Anastasia Willie- Will Conger get his Willie out? 8 Norma’s Rose- Sharpest of these, but not sure the mare can overcome the snowman.

Race 11: 1 Polo Joe- Deaton chose this one over the 2 and, more notably, the 6; 6 Lolas Cruiser- Charlino listed on 3 & 4 jumps to this one when E.D. jumps off; 4 Supreme Ruler- Can contend with these, raced poorly for Koch in last.

Race 12: 4 Sam’s Delight- First time Winstead; First time Charlino; First time Northfield; First time 1-5; 3 Lucky Jackpot- Very consistent, but not winning these days; 1 J D’s Turismo- The $5s are the bottom at Mea5/8, not so here, but has speed and Deaton and could be considered.

Race 13: 5 Bad Man Hall- Even more class relief after an improved effort at $450; 2 Moreland Flash- Wildly inconsistent, but when he is good, watch out (like last week at 76-1); 1 Misty’s Dignity- Speedster loves the rail; 6 Champagne Bliss- First time Charlino, weak effort last week.
