Battle of Lake Erie Night

I may have become jaded in my old age, but when I pull off 271 at Broadway Forbes on this Saturday,my heart STILL starts beating a bit faster. Just like exiting I71 at mile marker 131 (and it isn't the Flying J that gets me there). I am on the air for the first twelve in tuxedo, int he winners circle. Stop by and we can talk horses, cigars or whatever else. And don't forget- Someone in attendance will walk out Saturday night with $10,000!!!!

Good Luck!!

Race 1: 4 Senator Lou- No chance 1st try at this level with that post, solid here; 1 Sparks Of Gold- May need a local start, but fits well from the rail; 5 ECK- Showed a bit with GGG last week.

Race 2: 4 Jesse’s Messenger- Facing the best in the sport in Canada, cruises if she minds her manner; 3 Lima Countess- Haven’t seen her best yet; 2 Lima Darlin- Maximum effort with Gris.

Race 3: 3 Abs Speedy Hall- Trainer/driver calls on a top catch pilot; 5 Wild Nordic- Had plenty left for Robin last week; 4 Lucca’s Revenge- Woke up last week and now gets Kakaley.

Race 4: 1 She’s A Ball- Has had some tough Dailey trips and now gets JJ; 4 Carrie’s Standby- Freshened after the Courageous Lady and the Q was good; 7 Hawk’s Cry Electra- Best horse and facing better, but post concerns; 2 Jetstreamjazziecam- Very consistent maiden gets Chip.

Race 5: 5 Shez Good Osborne- Moves up but is supposed to win with her breeding; 4 Golden Fizz- Seems to like this track; may add value; 7 O Hi O Deer-Impressive in last, but post is awful.

Race 6: 5 Victory Is Coming- Maybe be better than R2#4! Impressive locally; 2 Flori’s Future- Speedy filly starting to put it together; 3 Laser Lucy- Can’t hurt to have Palone in the bike.

Race 7: 2 Kinnick- Outdraws the main contenders and should win in a well matched group; 5 Mainline Hall- Best draw in five weeks, can upset; 6 No Risk- Best draw of the fives; 9 Tessallation- Gets Jamieson off a very fast win, but fractions helped a lot, tougher trip here.

Race 8: 1 Herbedaone- Time off after Currier & Ives a worry, price decides it for me; 5 Definitely Mamie- Racing style suits the half-mile oval; 7 Count N Caloris- So that’s why they claimed her.

Race 9: 1 Yankee Coburn- Koch to Palone may be good for a length or 2 (or 3); 5 Master Buckin Uhl- Winstead could move back over .500; 2 Master Wheels- Perfect trip to win last.

Race 10: 3 Wow Power- Moves up but has been awesome locally; 1 Intrepid Aries- Charlino took almost 2 seconds off his mark last time and now he gets the rail; 5 Chang Dynasty- Jamieson should help him; 6 Iconic Style- Ditto Palone, but #5 has generally faced better.

Race 11: 4 Up Front Cruiser- Well-connected and should beat these; 1 Lovely Dawn- Consistent and will contend from the rail; 5 Tuesday- May be better than the form shows.

Race 12: $100,000 Battle of Lake Erie- #1 Foiled Again- Have to stick with the chalk from the rail; 5 Cammabis- Steps up big time, but loves to win & Micallef is no slouch; 4 Hypnotic Blue Chip- Jody wouldn’t be wasting his time if he wasn’t a factor; 7 Won The West- A better draw & things might have gotten interesting. SUPERFECTA ADDED!

Race 13: George Verban Memorial- 8 Delivered Rules- Charlino’s choice to the snowman over #3, who fits; 3 Supreme Ruler- Gets stuck with Kakaley with Dan off; 4 Big Bad Tj- Consistent.

Race 14: 7 Stand N Shout- Reunited with Charlino and may overcome the bad draw; 2 Laughing Is An Art- Last week concerns, another chance with Gris; 3 Major Degree- Has been better with Lasix; 5 Artistic Dreamer- Can hang around with these and wrap the super.
