With Aaron Merriman actually driving, this looks like a playable card. I'm on the road with the soccer team- Perrysburg this weekend, so good luck without me.
Race 1: 3 Co Line Hard Drive- Had no chance from outside dropping down last time, she might here; 4 Gram Of Gold- Getting Aaron makes a ton of difference for her; 1 Friendly Kathy- Must be considered from the rail.
Race 2: 5 Count On Ben- Solid and faces arguably his softest competition in a while; 6 Upfront Jesse- Virgil’s barn should get all the money here; 2 Traintofly- Tired late and it wasn’t as if he was pressured. Another chance.
Race 3: 1 Townline Powerful- Merriman’s choice gets the rail and should be solid; 3 Banker Bob- My original pick, but Aaron chose off, perhaps out of loyalty, but… 2 Auto Pilot- Has shown signs of life & should be on the point.
Race 4: 1 Museum Piece- Is a bit inconsistent, but generally races well at this level; 2 Currently Flying- Pack animal Always hangs around and must be considered from inside; 5 Gold Fever- Excuse the last start off a sick scratch, a major player here; 4 Sky Strikes- Racing better, but Aaron chose off.
Race 5: 8 Holdzmfronfloppin- Gets the call with Aaron in the bike despite the snowman, hoping we get a decent return; 1 Shady Attack- Improving and gets the rail; 5 Towners Great Lady- Needs to finish her mile stronger.
Race 6: 2 Mm’s Shocking Guy- Way down in class for Charlino after facing Open pacers recently; 3 Fantasy Character- Always hangs around, but isn’t winning races this year; 6 Samovar Hanover- Could add value.
Race 7: 2 Great Balldini- Looked good in debut for current connections; 9 E C K- Could trip out for Charlino to make it two in a row; 3 Genesis See Yah- Does work, but needs to sustain it, consider due to past local success.
Race 8: 6 Wow Power- Should be solid with Aaron in the bike; 5 Gordie How- Has back class but must finish better than he has been; 7 Fox Valley Flyby- Always does work, but may be hampered by this draw.
Race 9: 4 Chang Dynasty- Seems to have recovered from his breaking issues; 6 Show Me Big Slick- Very good qualifier, but the time off concerns me; 1 Mattonthechooch- Beat these three back and should be good from the rail/
Race 10: 9 Too Good Too Pass- Gets class relief after an Open win, how does he deal with the 2nd tier? 1 Norma’s Rose- Classy animal always races well for Charlino; 4 On The Tab- A pair of good Qs for last year’s Hambletonian finalist. May need a start for Slippery Bill; 3 Lookslikefire- Racing well but faces a tough group here.
Race 11: 1 Moreland Flash- Should win easily from the rail; 6 Mypanmar- Very classy animal has his work cut out for him; 2 Colossal Cruiser- In rarefied air, but should get a good trip behind my top choice.
Race 12: 4 Dragon Smoke- Yet another Straub & Stahl collaboration. Strain is ice-cold at .446; 5 I’ve Got Life- May be better in his second try at this level; 3 Rapid City- Best of the rest, but needs it all to fall his way to win.
Race 13: 2 Eagle Jacob- Drops down and draws well, plus the Swartz will be with him; 1 Lrs Mamas Boy- This one also drops down off some good efforts; 9 Depravedhedonist- Should hang with these, but not at his bets right now; 4 Frenchies Pride- Impressed from the snowman with Charlino, but faces tougher.
