Monday, recovery day

Posting this in the midst of a weekend of 14 soccer matches, and hosting the Battle of Lake. Things are starting to get busy with the start of the high school soccer season one week from Monday, but I will be posting picks on nearly every card throughout the fall.

There is a $10k Guaranteed Pick 4 on races 8-11, with a 14% takeout.

My play is 2/1389/67/1367= $32
and 27/13/67/67= $16

Race 8: 2) Pure Fantasy is a logical single, but 7)Heath Barkley intrigues me after an aggressive trip at Hilliard against Mypanmar, a winner of $1.5 million career, who was chasing the $750 purse.

Race 9: 3)Abby is stepping up but is very green and should go forward. 1) Candy J has speed and the rail really helps her. They opened up the race for 8)He Cantab You, but the post hurts him and 9)Danny-o can pop at any time.

Race 10:7)Man I'm Good has been just that and wins easily if he avoids road trouble. 6) Firm Jet shows ability and may finish better 2nd time Noble.

Race 11: 3)Angelo Kosmos- Classy old guy has done everything but win lately. 1) Allaince Hall is wildly inconsistent but must be used and 7)Trytopass Sam is streaky and may be in an upward cycle. 6)Go Merrily Along intrigues me-- usually does good work and seems to fit with these. Could add some value.

Here are the rest of the picks. Good luck:

Race 1: 5 Bingo Queen- “B-1” her qualifier and could be anything; 1 Oh Justice- Always does work and frosh has just three starts, so can improve; 6 Ruba Dub Dub- Pa. invader gets Robin in the tub.
Race 2: 3 Snooz Attack- Shows good results with Noble & could return to form; 1 Date Night K- Has been facing better, but still risky with Choppy; 5 Supreme Ruler- Shows intermittent work since the lame scratch, must sustain it.
Race 3: 8 Spiker- A bit risky from the snowman, but seemed much better with straps; 7 Pocketbooktreasure- Good effort last time, maybe after some half-mile track adjustments? 1 Kaptain G- Maybe he will race better than he spells.
Race 4: 1That’ll Work- Not that impressive, but Noble chose over 5, 8 and 9. That’s enough for me; 7 Townline Powerful- Big barn change off the absolute bottom win; 4 Currently Flying- Has not really gone forward for his new barn; 3 Mcfriendly- Needs to be used off the wings and he should show enough interest to contend.
Race 5: 3 Upfront Jesse- Well-connected, but comes to a half from a 5/8 off a break; 6 Sams Yankee- Has never missed the board in his short career; 2 Little Treasures- Seems to be improving with each start.
Race 6: 5 Call Me Merkle- Drops to the level of his last win and Josh has had success with him in the past; 1 S F Spiderman- Has been more successful so far than Turn Off The Dark; 3 Done It All- Porkchop gets class relief.
Race 7: 6 Ridge Park- Well-bred and lightly raced, he could be a good one; 4 Perfekjenlmnkalfas- Where has he been since the 5/24 qually? 1 Fantacular- Tactical speed and shows moderate work, rail helps; 2 Right On Target- First decent draw in this class, may add value to the super.

Race 8: 2 Pure Fantasy- NW1L8 just missed last time as the fave, another chance; 7 Heath Barkley- Nothing like dropping in a $750 fair race and facing a winner of $1.5 million; 4 Lima Jag- Should be a little closer early.

Race 9: 1 Candy J- Should be pretty sweet from the rail; 3 Abby- Stalked in last, may go down the road here; 8 He Cantab You- And he don’t want nobody else. Did dominant fair win awaken him? They opened up the class for him.

Race 10: 7 Man I’m Good- Rapidly improving and may be able to overcome the poor draw with Aaron; 6 Firm Jet- Raced well for Noble last time; 5 Israeli Hall- Just call him “heikhal,” which is Hebrew for hall.

Race 11: 3 Angelo Kosmos- Has a ton of back class and is in pretty decent form right now; 1 Alliance Hall- Always a bit spotty, but could go down the road here; 6 Go Merrily Along- Another chance after a couple flat efforts.

Race 12: 5 Sky Strikes- Was very impressive in the win on Monday; 2 On The Shady Side- Gest class relief and an improved draw; 3 Western Empire- Ducett calls on a catch-driver, could surprise.

Race 13: 4 Ge’s Gilmour- Gets class relief after a good return for owner-driver Merriman; 2 Westedge Matt- Always gives effort and must be considered with best draw in almost two months; 3 Mac Only Bill- Has really been gutted by his recent trips; 7 Nicky Hanover N- inconsistent, but is in very soft, so we will take a chance.
