The Last Monday before Saturdays return

And that means the last Monday without NW$150PS and maiden claimers. Saturdays return July 2 and there is no Monday racing next week, July 4. I will be watching my girls try to cement an undefeated summer league record. Results are not important in this league, but at some point you dig in. We are defending brilliantly (3 goals allowed in 6 matches) as last year, and we are seeing a number of them really pick things up. It's gonna be a fun summer/fall
Here are the picks:

Race 1: 2 Rose Run Nellie- Scotty calls on Noble for Nellie, who should be tighter; 4 Simmy- Raced well in the prestigious $600 Open at Circleville; 5 Christmas Knight- Just a hunch this well-connected trotter improves.

Race 2: 1 Moonsailer- Usually does good work, gets the rail and now has Stahl; 5 Vaniscape- Inconsistent, but must figure with Noble driving; 3 I’ve Got Life- Could win at any time on memories alone, will be on the point.

Race 3: 6 Jazzys Boy- Rider calls on a top catch driver in Charlino; 9 Rose Run Margrita- Good qualifier, but may need a start or two; 3 Cinder Sierra- Always puts in effort, rarely acts like her old man (and that’s a good thing).

Race 4: 2 Moreland Flash- Loves this track and Noble chose him over #6 and #8, he’s facing softer; 4 Rounding Third- Still trying to put it all together; 9 Little Gary Perry- In tough, but another who likes the Route Eight oval; 1 Tooter Lane- May be on the ticket from the rail.

Race 5: 9 Monkey Off My Back- Drops below the level of his last win and has faced far better; 2 Native Fate- clearly improved in his Route 23 stint; 3 Blissful Court- Only due to Charlino. I thought Rawlings made baseball gloves.

Race 6: 1 Christina Victory- Has beaten better here regularly and is the main threat from the rail; 6 Celebrity Wonder- Doesn’t always fire, but racing style fits here; 2 Spit Happens- Sick scratch worries me, or he’d be on top.

Race 7: 3 Rabbitman- Was no littler bunny Foo Foo last time Charlino drove; 1 Shannons Boy Scout- Has a huge brush that we might actually witness in this class; 7 Goodnite Wilbur- Very professional and adds some value; 4 Liltycantbedenied- Top four last five, must use on the bottom of your super ticket. NW1L8.

Race 8: 2 Gold Fever- Nominally gets some class relief, but you wonder why; 3 Fortune Ho- May actually benefit from the missed time; 9 Magnificent Gift- Usually gives effort and being inside, even in the 2nd tier, helps him.

Race 9: 1 Fox Valley Flyby- Moves up off remarkable win for hottest barn around; 4 Delivered Rules- Hoping his C-bus form carries over as he returns home; 8 Caramel Dumpling- Class relief and will be flying late despite snowman.

Race 10: 3 On The Shady Side- Major player if he finishes his mile; 1 Go Cowboy Go- Has been solid since the barn change; 7 Left’em Standing- Has been facing better, but moves outside; 2 No No Richard- Hot barn and this one could be anything. I like the way he won at Paulding.

Race 11: 9 Goin Home Ray- Moves up off a good win and Charlino makes a rare choice off Zakman; 3 Mattonthecdhooch- 3rd back off a Circleville prep; 2 Zakman- A major player, even without Dan C.

Race 12: 3 Key Western- Improved with the drop to 600, a maybe pick;’ 5 Up Front Northern- NW1L8 has a chance with his best; 2 Moon River Dell- Comes off two good closing efforts and must be thrown into the mix.

Race 13: 4 Ge’s Antonio- Drops below the level of his last win & could be a decent value play; 1 Doowrah’s Deal- Class relief, the rail and decent results against better; 9 Standin On A Beach- Third back after a pair of snowmen, should contend; 8 Wardog Hall- Aaron chose over #6 and #9 who look better on paper. Snowman is a big issue.
