Friday Fillies - Farewell for a few days

Depending when you read this, I will be at or en route to the Perrysburg Super Scrimmage, the largest HS girls' soccer post-tryout scrimmage in Ohio. My Lady Lions have drawn three tough opponents, Genoa, Perrysburg (the hosts) and Oreegon Clay, but after a 10-0 pre-season thumping of Brooklyn (who beat us 6-0 last year) last night, we should be ready to roll. I will try to get Saturday picks posted, but probably nothing Monday. Tuesday picks won't be posted until midday Tuesday. Be patient, and I will see you in the winners circle Tuesday night.

There is a small Pick 5 carryover (almost $600). If you need a single, go with Dream Misty. Beyond that, it seems you need to go two or three deep in every leg. Good luck!

Race 1: 8 Century Club- Marks the return of Tony Hall with a snowman win. Hey, none of these are racing well right now, so why not? 4 N L Solar Wind- Has contended with decent draws; 3 Lady Louise- Best draw since the scratch, at least there’s a positive angle.

Race 2: 5 Ms Denali- Streaky one is very sharp right now, ride the wave; 1 Peggy Spur- Will try to even it up at 2-2 with top choice; 3 Krissy K- Must be forward early, not as sharp as the top 2.

Race 3: 9 Fun Lady- Maybe Karcher will have some fun with Stahl driving; 2 Blue Time Ice Lady- Gets Charlino & a good draw; 1 Shadyplace- Has shown some speed.

Race 4: 2 Dream Misty- Best draw in months and races well for Charlino; 9 Cruisin Delight- 2nd tier mat be problematic, but she figures; 7 Doowrah Silver- Another chance after an uncharacteristic break, but post hurts; 3 Rock-n-patty

Race 5: 2 Physical Beauty- Class relief & was okay in local debut; 1 Lovesick Blues- Showed signs of a return to form in last; 6 Jackie’s Gem- Got beat, but raced better last time, consider.

Race 6: 8 Blueridge Magdalen- Super sharp, gets Charlino (and the snowman, yikes!); 9 Soaring Cloud- Versatile and in good form; 1 Moofalet- Moves up but the rail helps.

Race 7: 4 Surf Song- Just missed in last at first asking, always races better fresh; 2 She’sa Town Girl- Drops to level of last win and gets Lasix; 9 Radiant Star- Dominated lesser with Daniel in the bike; 6 Hillcrest Crystal- Dan chooses off, so Allen adds a Hall.

Race 8: 4 Theresa’s Princess- Have always liked this mare and now I have a reason to; 5 Winning Yankee- Ineffective so far in this class, maybe Tony helps; 6 Maria Sandrina- Took pressure throughout and battle gamely before yielding.

Race 9: 9 Ballad Seelster- Waking up a bit since DJ called on DC; 2 Icu Roller- Stahl chose this one over the #6, who was my initial pick; 6 Mindy Love Brown- Very solid mare, on ticket here.

Race 10: 2 Shelbys Muneymaker- Would win even if I trained her; 4 Dappers Flash- In solid form and JG is picking up his driving lately; 3 Renaissance Woman- Has shown zilch facing far better, give her a start here; 5 Cruizin At Dawn- Faces tougher, but racing very well right now.

Race 11: 1 Ferris Wheel- The top contenders draw poorly, a value play; 2 Stox Up Bluegrass- Has been solid and draws well here; 5 Pocket Belle N- Faces slightly lesser and gets Tony Hall.

Race 12: 5 Memphis Glow- Back class and in cheap after a big FFA win at Jefferson for $1K! 7 Ribbons Of Color- Has posted big numbers at some slow fair tracks; 1 Quite A Shark- Good speed means consider her from the rail.

Race 13: 1 Get Ready To Rhumba- Moves up, but is perfect since the move from Thunder Ridge; 4 Scent Of Magic- Can contend, especially with Tony Hall; 6 Sweetie Sue Cam- Let’s see how she does with fresh hands; 3 Silver Dollar Star- Always hangs around & draws better.
