Some Saturday Thoughts

More from the winners circle, but good to see my friend, South Euclid Mayor Georgine Welo, doing a fundraiser at Northfield. Whether you are a politico, a charity or Booster organization, fundraisers at the track are so easy (Just call Mary Randall at 330-467-4101x203--she will do all the work) and a night at the races is so much fun, I am shocked more folsk don't do them.

-Race 1: 6 Pea Ridge- Has been far more competitive with a tag, and Charlino doesn’t hurt; 9 Hobies Ascooten- Has been consistent, but wouldn’t mind a catch driver; 1 The Hef- Another good Henry Beachy Delaware project, will be solid from the rail.

Race 2: 2 Caramel Dumpling- Got the win last week, the first in the last 3 that I did not pick him; 1 Lite Me Up- Had no excuse last time; 4 Delivered Rules- Charlino chose this one over the #6.

Race 3: 2 Scootin Jetta- Has had no chance with the draw, could surprise this soft group; 5 Trixiespowertoy- Moves up off a hellacious trip; 1 Sebastin Seacrest- Comes off a good qually.

Race 4: 4 Liltycantbedenied- Swifty calls on a catch driver & gets one who is awesome 1st time up; 9 Elm Grove Gerson- Was better than the line shows last time; 2 Tooter Lane- Big drop and gets the owner in the bike; 5 Stand Tall Mcgraw- Underachiever could step up at any time.

Race 5: 3 Jazz Spur- Racing well & gets a solid pilot in Stahl; 6 Shipshe Doug- Was way overbet off a big move up & raced well; 9 Tally Ho Chip- Raced well after recovering from break.

Race 6: 6 At Daybreak- Just needs to cut the margin another 9 lengths; 1 Mattie’s Big Girl- Should be better with a trip in her; 7 Moofalet- Always does work, but must overcome bad draw.

Race 7: 2 Western Empire- Has always done his best racing here, in super cheap and gets the call despite poor form; 9 Romance’s Thunder- Not showing a lot of pop lately; 4 Race Track Cruiser- Needed his last star, look for better; 1 Bus Fare- Can stalk these from rail and contend.

Race 8: 4 Vilas Blue Chio- 3rd back and class relief, even though Dan chose off; 2 Expensive Western- The other class dropper; 6 Toronado Mindale- Must sustain his work to beat these.

Race 9: 5 Kinnick- Hot horse, hot trainer, hot driver, Duh; 3 The Long Goodbye- Has a better chance at this level; 6 Bodandy Andy- Gets the final call in a well-matched group.

Race 10: 3 Western Outfitter- Getting it back together after some issues; 2 Road Storm- Best draw in ages, which also explains poor recent results; 6 Noble Cruiser- Stahl chose over #1/4/7.

Race 11: 9 Master Buckin Uhl- Has been a different horse since getting Lasix; 2 Glasslite- Very nice win by the 14-year-old who gets a 3rd start back angle; 1 R Cowboy- I like the driver change.

Race 12: 5 Polo Joe- He should “win with Welo,” super sharp; 9 Supreme Ruler- Impressive winner last time; 1 Bi Bad t J – Racing well and may be better than 4-1.

Race 13: 3 Artistic Dreamer- Should get every call for Charlino and The Falcon; 4 Wow Power- Gets Stahl in return to Northfield, where he posted his mark; 5 Good Goalie- Obviously his name isn’t Robert Green.

Race 14: 6 Goatcoat George Tm- This Winstead/Charlino entry is my best bet; 7 Mainline Hall- Drops to level of the claim and is racing pretty well; 9 Saltea’s Sanjay- Consistent on the board horse, must use; 2 Knockout Sahbra- Stalking sort could easily move up this ticket.
