These picks may be revised-- they are being made as I watch the Little Brown Jug simulcast with the lovely and talented Dave Bianconi, among others, and my focus is there. Still, this is a pretty good starting point. Good luck, but listen closely on Saturday night.
Good luck!
Race 1: 3 Athlete In Action- A slight nod in an evenly-matched group; 5 Master Wheels- Most consistent of these, but not much pop of late; 1 Near The Limit- Sick scratch a concern.
Race 2: 2 Red Hott Alert- 1st time Deaton is the angle in a soft group; 5 Clarksville Jazz- Harris to Noble may wake her up; 1 Town Toots- Good draw and gets Aaron but hasn’t won in ages.
Race 3: 2 Dynamagic- Moves up but is in great form and gets his nose on the gate; 3 Hoosier Rambo- Another consistent performer; 1 Razer Blade- Has speed and gets the rail.
Race 4: 3 Jenna’s On Jodi- Returned to her old racing style last week and may be poised to win; 1 Ballad Seelster- Improved dropping to this class last time; 7 Polo Aub- Class relief, but post an issue; 4 Real Peachy- gets Stahl with Charlino choosing to my top pick.
Race 5: 7 Bologna Lips- Aaron;s choice over Seaworthy says a lot; 1 Krissy K- Winningest horse at the Route 8 Oval this year; Illoklikevada- Not exactly a slouch, either.
Race 6: 3 Fox Valley Flyby- Best post in two months, only has two wins and 5 on the boards in last six; 5 The Long Goodbye- Fits well if he can handle the turns at this level; 1 Go Bogart- The rail helps this horse immensely.
Race 7: 5 Western Empire- Is in so cheap he may win just on memories; 6 Catnapper- Freshened and a decent Q, but form is suspect; 1 Dd Cam Ram- Class relief and the rail; 3 Rapport Hanover- Horrible post draws last several, give him a chance.
Race 8: 2 Strategic Win- Steps up in good form for newish connections; 4 Tropicante- Ultra-super-duper sharp, but not a 58 trotter; 3 Peggy Spur- Very consistent.
Race 9: 2 Christina Victory- Another chance after the costly break, E.D. chose over 5/7; 6 Stonebridge Romeo- Fits if you pitch the amateur lines; even if you don’t; 4 Golden Nutmeg- 2nd tier cost him last time, another chance.
Race 10: 5 Rich Cowboy- Needs to mind his manners, but is very fast; 4 Spirit Freeluck- Gets Aaron in 3rd start for new connections; 1 Intrepid Aries- Rail helps this Ontario-bred a lot; 3 Elm Grove Gerson- Competitive post draw for a change.
Race 11: 4 Well Bet- Came up big in his return to the Flying Turns; 5 Lite Me Up- Consistent, but not as sharp as he was last year; 6 Camcoder- Rarely races badly, must use in exotics.
Race 12: 8 Extremely Fast- Drops to level of last win, and a look at that line says eight-hole won’t hurt; 1 Tieler Bea Hotspur- Parimutuel debut for current connections; 6 Category Six- Aaron chose off for the one and the post is a question.
Race 13: 4 Medoland Tess- Won at this level in last at ScD, may need local start, but I doubt it; 5 Nuclear Cam- Very consistent with these; 6 Apache’s Gold- Needs trip, but always contends.
Race 14: 6 Mr Orchard Street- Drops off a credible effort from outside; 1 Romance’s Thunder- Form is improving; 2 Stand N Shout- Needs to finish strong, but is a factor; 9 Green Acre Pill- Fresh hands in Charlino
