Friday Filly Follies

My bankroll is highly dependent on Dan Charlino tonight. If he has a good night, so do I . Interesting that he is getting more driver choices around here than anyone of late. Mmm, are horsemen figuring out what I have been saying about him since last year?

Here are Publicity Director Keith Gisser’s handicapping tips, provided, as always, at no extra charge with a program purchase! Due to our printing schedule, picks are done in advance and may not account for in-to-go horses or late scratches and driver changes, so be sure to log on to The Giss’s blog at www.northfieldpark.com, and watch our nightly televised picks for updates.

Race 1: My Yankee Lady- Improving since Lasix and now gets rail and Deaton; 5 Sure Shot Cheryl- Scratch is no concern, Stahl for Swifty is an improvement; 2 Spider Girl- I know Charlino chose off, but this one figures.

Race 2: 1 Exotic Cardshark- Has raced well for Dan C; 3 Jay Bee’s Muffie- Gets a barn change shipping in from Minnesota, you betcha; 4 Winning Yankee- She has won twice in ’09.

Race 3: 5 Ily Lavec- Uber-consistent, regardless of driver; 1 Super Speedway- Charlino’s choice over 1 & 7: 4 Excellent Caviar- Deaton inherits the drive off a troubled, stalking win.

Race 4: 1 Silky Sailor- Gets a class drop and the rail, may prevail; 4 Fleur De Le- Another class dropper, this could be the remedy; 3 Scooters Clan- Hangs around and gets checks, should be on the ticket; 5 Sweetie Peetie- I am really on a “Charlino chose this one,’ kick today.

Race 5: 1 Virtual Dream- Can contend against this very well matched group; 4 La Suvera- Beats lesser, struggles against better, in the middle here; 5 Paint Wheel- Dan C. chose over #6.

Race 6: 9 Pw Dealer- Well-bred filly could step up against these; 6 Freedom Chase- Getting better and was facing better; 2 Eww That Smell- It’s probably just my cigarm she fits.

Race 7: 3 Rosie’s Sweetie- Drops out of $3K claimers and should be on the chooch; 4 Hillcrest Crystal- Hoping for the two hole; 5 April Fool Days- Can close these out off her best, especially with hot fractions; 6 Eagle Love- Sophomore filly starting to find her stride.

Race 8: 2 Stox Up Bluegrass- Tough trip against better in last, should win; 1 Helene’s Escape- Versatile mare can challenge; 4 Ms Fun- Beat these last time.

Race 9: 8 Krissy K- Curse of the snowman, can she overcome #8? 6 Ilooklikevada- Has beaten the choice often; 4 Tori’s Angel- Will the post help her enough against the $4s?

Race 10: 5 Lavish Liz- What’s not to like, she could be back here for Super Night; 3 Icu Roller- Flash likes this new acquisition, but she may need a start; 4 Gadjet- Has been snakebit with bad luck of late; 6 Yankee Royalty- Impressive winner in her local debut.

Race 11: 1 Gelika Ann- From the rail I might be able to drive her to a win; 2 Sand On The Beach- Knocking at the door & gets Aaron; 9 Electric Highlight- As consistent as they come.

Race 12: 6 Up Front Lady Grey- Turning into a racehorse, but is still green; 4 Quenelle Hanover- Usually gives you your $2 worth; 5 Anything But Plain- On board 5 of last 6.

Race 13: 5 Friendly Kathy- Monster effort, but the trip didn’t work out last time; 7 Village Catera- Gets Merriman; 2 Clarksville Jazz- Will the big win at bottom wake her up?

Race 14: 6 Tidewater Misty- Another Reynolds Stake dropper for Kelly O; 5 Precious Lass- Does work most of the time; 4 Lula’s Dragon- Triple class relief but hasn’t show that much lately; 1 Jema Advance- Can skim the cones to be on this superfecta.
