Friday picks

Weather should be warming up, so no concern with trcak conditions (snow on Wednesday, near 80 on Saturday--gotta love it). This card really looks like there could be some value-- some rapidly improving youngsters who may or may not get bet, a couple other interesting class moves and driver choices, as well. I will probably be at the windows a few times Friday. Good luck.

Race 1: 9 Mommas Gone Cruzin- Oye, she’s 0-34 in ’08-09 and I am still picking her. Class relief, Charlino and not the 8 hole; 2 Junes Jaguar- Not as much improvement in last as expected; 3 Slick-as-Sleet- Gets Kakaley and that’s enough to compete with these.

Race 2: 4 Eagle Creek Beauty- That a trip with a month off means something, better result here; 5 Precious Lass- Has been better with Aaron; 6 Doowrah’s Stand- Class relief, poor form.

Race 3: 6 Divine’s Delight- Won last despite a Gisseresque trip, well-bred and can get better; 9 Dee Town- Logical choice with the class drop, no value; 1 She’s So- Keeps hanging around.

Race 4: 8 Gadjet- This nive mare can overcome the snowman assignment; 4 Passing Lane Penny- Fits well here; 5 Shell I Attack- Charlino’s choice off a decent Q, may need a start or two; 2 Pretty Pacific- Credible off the sick scratch and should improve.

Race 5: 5 Electric Highlight- What’s not to like? 4 Broadway Petera- Moves back up and is wildly inconsistent; 3 Cristal Daddy Girl- Horrible last week, one more chance.

Race 6: 2 Cee Cee Comer- Big effort in her return; value or overbet? 4 Striking Karat- 0-38 in ’08-09, but almost always on the board of late; 1 Bomb Strike- Needs to trot the first turn.

Race 7: 6 Honeymoon Hudson- Drops below level of last win and more importantly, last Aaron; 1 Lobe’s Player- Signs of life at this level, plus the rail; 3 A Fleet Angel- Also drops below level of last win, but hers was slower; 9 Tucson Lace- A different horse last week with Matt K.

Race 8: 1 Star-why- J.G. Wengerd is an underrated trainer and this one is sharp; 8 Ilooklikevada- Also very sharp, but the eight makes it tough; 2 Isn’t She Precious- Rarely misses the ticket against these.

Race 9: 2 Tripoli- Won Q from here to the Halls of Montezuma, rolls for Matt K./Myrick combo; 1 Jarmoto- Class dropper hates to win; 7 Victory Princess- Talented soph gets a catch driver.

Race 10: 9 Ashley Cruiser- I wonder if J.G, would take $1400 for her now? (sarcasm); 4 Manhattan Design- Has been solid locally for owner-driver Charlino; 2 Enticing Attack- 3/27 line, is enticing; 3 Redmeansgo- Barn change for consistent performer, same pilot, though.

Race 11: 4 Krissy K- Has never been better- kudos to Kent; 1 Shesa Partygirl- Kakaley and the rail, needs a flat mile; 6 Shady Chip- Good two-year-old has been lackluster in quallys.

Race 12: 9 Sadie Falcon- Stale date or freshened off the barn change, at least it’s an angle; 2 Classy Sarah- Hangs around and draws well here; 7 Sand Cache- Good qualifier, worth a shot.

Race 13: 7 Wildfire Osborne- Very impressive ’09 debut and will get better; 3 Shelbys Muneymaker- super consistent, but not on top; 2 My Sweet Lorelei- Improving and a good post.

Race 14: 3 Silky Sailor- Stop the presses, am inside post draw! 1 Tequila- A hit for The Champs and for Kakaley; 5 Cathy-d-Not as good as the top two, but on this ticket; 8 Fleur De Le- Racing well but the draw may be too much.
