Saturday, wait and Sunday always comes too late.

I have Saturday off and will be cleaning up the yard, checking out the crocuses and snowdrops and, of course watching college hoops. Nothing will compare to Thursday night/Friday mornings 6 overtime affair between Uconn and 'The Cuse, but I will catch a few games. A few observations on the Big East - The whole conference may be playing itself off the 1 line, but then Oklahoma, Kansas and everybody else loses, so maybe not. As to the marathon, it's nice that the refs gave Hashim Thabeets 10 fouls before he fouled out. Maybe he was fatigued, maybe he is a hack and maybe he is a thug, but puh-lease. And, I cannot stand Eric Devendorf, but he can play for me anytime. Okay. Harness racing time:

Race 1: 2 Master Wheels- With no trailer should get a perfect trip; 4 Lucca’s Revenge- Draws the rail off a win—can he take a two-hole trip to lockout the Master? 4 American Tribute- Upholds honor for the ladies, but will Lucca park her? That wouldn’t be gentlemanly.

Race 2: 1 Painted Speed- Stays in $4s off a monster win; is the for sale sign out? 6 Bacon Hill Bandit- Goes for 5 straight, not as good from this PP; 2 Fortune Ho- Runs into bearcats again.

Race 3: 4 Merited Victory- Big qualifier and gets in cheap; 3 Hello Carlo- Getting his act back together, can win; 5 Ira K- Hangs around but hasn’t been as good as expected at Flying Turns.

Race 4: 3 Irish Shade- Best of a lackluster group; 4 Blues Special- 3rd local start, better in last; 1 Green Acre Pill- First rail in a long time; 7- Koko Beach Boy- Only because Aaron chose him.

Race 5: 6 Seaworthy- 2nd tier cost any chance in last, solid play; 3 Mr Mime- Ultra consistent, but juts one local win; 5 Lumberjack Lavec- Moves up off a barn change and could surprise.

Race 6: 1 Sam’s Delight- These are not as good as the $4s on paper; 5 Mister Micah- Competitive post draw after credible 1st start back; Ohio Star- On the board, but 0 wins in last 24.

Race 7- 6 G Rod- Impressive in last, will need a breather at some point; 2 Jd’s Houdini- Draws better and faces softer than last couple; 4 Izamillionare- He’s $987,975 away after last win; 3 Delivered Rules- Gets class relief after doing moderate work against better.

Race 8: 9 Corleones Capo- Big barn change for improving 7-year-old; 5 Jarmoto- Will roll to the front, but can she hold it? 8 Quantum King Leo- Tough draw but racing well.

Race 9: 3 Mr Cadillac- Drops to level of a dominating win 6 back; 1 Sparks Of Gold- Back at an appropriate class; 9- Irish Raider- Needs to get into the flow, but can contend with cover.

Race 10: 2 Voodoos Lil Rock- Drops from Opens where he has been unable to do much work; 6 Omar Pheeny- Has contended with better at Mea5/8; 1 Knob Hill Splash- Always a player from the rail, but can he sustain? 4 Lakeside Al N- Flat effort in last, but still fits well with these.

Race 11: 4 Utica Hanover- Racing well and should win; 1 Heez Ruthless N- May not be ready to win, but has speed and is a danger from the rail; 6 J T Stena- Huge in last, but no Matt K here.

Race 12: 8 Royalton Star- Made a believer out of me in his last; 7 Lite Me Up- Contrasting racing styles for the two faves means exacta box time; 1 Whatanartist- Post relief could get him on this ticket.

Race 13: 2 Spires Trick- Woke up with class relief in his last and could roll here; 9 Just Oui- Drops from the $4s, but 2nd tier is not good; 1 Nuke Kidin Town- Drops to level of last win.

Race 14: 3 Village Catera- Someone has to win, she did two back against lesser, or were they? 4 Mommas Gone Cruzin- 0 for ’08-09 means can’t put her on top of this ticket; 2 Coluptuous- Always hanging around for minor honors; 9 Miss Hardbody- Has a win at this level 3 back, but may suffer with 2nd tier.
