Walter Case and The Scarlet and Gray

I was shocked to see a report in our daily Harness Tracks of America Executive Newsletter quoting a " Chat Line," yesterday saying Walter Case would be released early from priosn and would be applying to race at The Meadows. Now, it may well be true that Case is going to egt an early release, but I find it stunning that HTA is quoting an Internet Chat for sources of news. They have staff-- they could check this out (and to their credit they did contact The Meadows which said they knew nothing about Walter coming there) with, I don't know, The Ohio Parole Board, the prison or even Walter himself? Stan Bergstein and his staff are usually better than delaing in Internet rumors. Remember, Information on the Internet is subject to the same rules and regulations as conversation at a bar.

Between the Ohio Sires Stakes and Scarlet and Gray there should be tons of wagering opportunities this weekend. While several favorites seem unbeatbale, starting off with Mocha Jo in tonight's first, others may be due for a beating. There are a few fresh horses coming in to the OH SS and two-year-olds can go south (or pick up) very fast.

The Scarlet And Gray Horse Pace looks wide open, with KF St Patrick, BT Attack, Civil Attack and War Boots all looking pretty good. Dunkster lays over the horse trot, but right now he isn;t as good as the top two girls, Whotookwhat and Winnie The Who. Winnie is a bit sharper right now, but that is an exacta that needs to be reversed, especially with the Paver-trainee on the rail. Marvel Sahbra races huge at Northfield, but I am going to try Don't Blame Her, who gets a rejuvenated Brett Miller, in the Mare Pace.

Saturday should be great, with the mystery voucher redemption and good weather scheduled. Make plans to join us and say hi-- I will be in the winners circle doing picks and interviewing winners (I gotta try to get a press release done at some point as well, but I shoul dhave time for a chat.

See you tonight ir tomorrow.
