I am proud to be a voter in the weekly Standarbred Poll. This week I gave Ohio-bred trotter Buck I St Pat my first place vote, even though the free-for-all pacers like Mr Feelgood, Special Report and even Bono Bests are getting more attention.
This early in the year, I look more at a horses entire year of work than at one race, but of my top horses, only Mr Feelgood and Buck I St Pat were winners over the weekend. I had Buck I St Pat ahead of Mr Feelgood last week, in the first poll, and although he beat Special Report, I didn't think he was impressive enough to vault over the trotter.
Most impressive effort I saw was from Corleone Kosmos at M1 in the Cutler Trot. Last year's Cleveland Classic champ Won the West also raced big, finishing 4th against Mr Feelgood and Special Report.
Here's my top 10: 1)Buck I St Pat, 2) Mr Fellgood, 3) Bono Bests, 4) Southwind Tempo, 5) My Little Dragon, 6) Enough Talk, 7) Special Report, 8) Corleone Kosmos, 9)Before He Cheats, 10) Won The West
