Wednesday- A Trivia question and then a brief hiatus

This is a very bettable card. It is a shame I will be watching Winthrop and Wake Forest play baseball in Rick Hill, SC, so I will not be betting. Head tot he Carolinas for several days, home for a day for Passover and then to Indiana for Harness Horse Youth Foundation stuff and then to St Louis for a reptile show. Picks will resume either Saturday April 23 or Monday April 25. I may be able to get you Pick 4 plays this weekend.

By the way, it was great to see so many of you Saturday night while I was at the races for Orange Boosters Night. It took me nearly two hours to smoke 3/4 of my 45-minute cigar. I appreciate all the kind words.

Somewhere in today's picks is a pretty obvious pop song reference. First person to e-mail me with what it is, I have a prize for you. klgisser@earthlink.net. Good luck and see you in a bit.

Race 1: 2 Mac Atack Mac- Did good work against NW$200 two back, this drop really helps; 3 Catherinethegreat- Disappointed last time, another chance; 8 My Mystique- Snowman hurts, but she contends with her best.

Race 2: 6 Date Worthy- Eligible At Time of Entry is huge in this class; 4 Redzilla- Usually does decent work, but has been stuck here for a while; 3 Canadian Frontier- Did moderate work in his return and may improve.

Race 6: 6 Contech- Talented youngster has not shown his best yet; 5 Prime Number- Experience helps and he may be starting a good run of form; 4 Valentinos Peace- was overmatched against $300 per start, a chance.

Race 7: 1 J D’s Turismo- Beat an exceptional group for this class Saturday, best bet; 3 Rhino- Sharp and there is little difference between $2500 and $3000s; 5 Dragoninthekash- Needs to sustain his work; 6 Scoozi- Was way overbet Saturday, but like the top pick, faced better.

Race 8: 3 Anastasia Wildfire- Gonna keep picking her until she loses; 6 One Day Wonder- Looks for three straight, beat these in last; 1 Filigreed- Big effort last time.

Race 10: 2 C And C Hoorah- I really like his chances with Stahl; 1 Guile’s Boy- Gets a much improved post; 9 Magnificent Gift- Sugg chose over #3, needs to work out a trip; 4 Hot Soup- Needs to finish what he starts.

Race 11: 4 Cold Splash- Always gives effort and finds a good spot here; 5 Brother Nick- Seems better without Lasix; 1 Gate Keeper- Seems better with Lasix.

Race 12: 3 Vivacious Raider- Did big work on the drop to this level; 1 Scoot To The Top- Has a free-legged mile under him and should improve; 4 Cn Loufly Loretta- Always finds a way to hang around, wraps the tri.
