Tuesday triumphs

I had a pretty good night Saturday with a couple straigh tris and two $10+ winners (gifts) in Genesis See Yah and Dm Fatboy Slim. There have been a ton of recent overlays at Northfield and it is more important than ever to watch the board closely and wait until 3-4 minutes after post time (2 minutes before race-time) to wager. Unfortunately, I was unable to post Saturday as I was out of town for a few days. I hope you were watching, either live, at a simul facility or on your computer.

Here are the Tuesday picks. Good luck.

Race 1: 2 Jimi’s Little Wing- J.G./Noble combo has been lights out & she fits anyway; 9 Electric Highlight- Always does work, but needs a trip from the 2nd tier; 5 Ellie Deer- Might trip out here.

Race 2: 3 Revelation- Drops to the level of last win and has legit recent excuses; 7 Rose Run Freddie- Decent effort from the snowman on his return, but doesn’t draw much better; 9 Casino Winner K- Risky pick has shown little but faced better at The Meadows.

Race 3: 6 Winsmith Delight- Seems to be improving a little with each start; 5 Fortunate Belle- Drops down after a good 2nd off a layoff; 2 Scrambler- Noble/J.G. Wengerd combo again.

Race 4: 9 Search The Falcon- Needs a trip, but beat these three back; 4 Theshadownose- Raced well for Noble two back, consider; 3 Magnificent Gift- No chance in only recent start at this level; 1 Good Goalie- Rail will help immensely, risky with $0 earned last five starts, though.

Race 5: 9 Iknowwhatboyslike- Has had her best success with Deaton & may be a value; 4 My Mystique- Very consistent & will be favored; 5 Master Lad Pro- Can hang w/these with his best.

Race 6: 2 Rounding Third- If this one ever figures it all out he will be scary good; 5 Eagle Winter- Needs to sustain his work; 3 Hillcrest Omni- Drops back to his best level.

Race 7: 1 Magical Delight- 3rd back angle plus a rail gets her the call; 9 Digital’s Dream- Most consistent of these, but would prefer her nose on the gate; 6 Towner’s Great Lady- Drops down further in class, but needs to stay flat; 3 Pretty Pacific- Maybe the bottom win wakes her up.

Race 8: 2 One Day Wonder- Solid combatant in the recent claiming war; 8 Mystical Ways- Love the horse, hate the post, depends on the price; 7 Legacy Chip- Should be forward early here.

Race 9: 6 Extravagant Manner- Swartz calls on a catch-driver. Money in the bank; 4 Son Of A Spur- Class relief off a claim and moves into a crafty trot barn; 5 Mutual Funs- Gets Aaron.

Race 10: 4 Intrepid Aries- Drops to the level of a dominating win six back; 9 Saucy Brown- Troubled trip against better, showed well last time in the class; 2 Break The Bank- Inconsistent, but may add some value with Sugg; 1 Bobbys On The Move- Barn change & the rail, why not?

Race 11: 4 Fun Lady- The Q was decent; fresh horses have an edge in this class; 6 Fernbrook Fiasco N- Drop down may be helpful; 7 Matt-scoot-n-bunny- A-chance-if-he-overcomes-post.

Race 12: 7 Tt’s Little Lass- Drops to level of last win & can close even with bad draw; 3 Alyssa Blue- Eligible at time of entry angle; 6 Fast Attack- Another who drops to last win plateau.

Race 13: 8 Alakazam Mike- Huge qually, fresh, snowman provides value. (I hope); 1 Coin Of The Realm- Kennedy from the rail at this class is always in play; 3 Dragoninthekash- Decent qualifier in new barn, but 0-’10-11 on the board; 6 Camlit- Dartboard pick for fourth.
