We begin the Farewell Tour on the air tonight. Just three more live cards that I will be handicapping and broadcasting. But I WILL continue this blog with picks and those on-track will also get my picks free with a live Northfield program purchase. A tough card wuth very few positive angles. The one positive? A GGG appearance. Greg Grismore, a multi-driving champ here at Northfield is drivign a half dozen Monday night and is listed on Tye Loy's horses for Tuesday. Trying to get details if this is a short-term visit or if he will be doing double duty. Good Luck.
Race 1: 5 Camilla Star- Raced well in local debut for Rosy & Robin; 3 Diva Two- Very consistent and can break through at any time; 7 Heavenly Chip- Nearly lasted in a very slow heat last week.
Race 2: 6 Israeli Hall- Was parked and raced gamely. Frankly that’s the best positive angle I can find; 7 Dawn Of A New Rei- Here’s why Ohio needs a 30-day rule. Probably the best, but unbettable off 40 days; 1 Fortunate Belle- Raced well for Darren H, now the owner drives.
Race 3: 4 Strikemout- Swift to Noble gets him home; 8 Come Along Fred- Draws worse than me (I flunked 3rd grade art) but gets Aaron; 3 Call Me Merkle- Capable with his best from here.
Race 4: 1 Picass’s Dream- Sharpest of these and a few of the best aren’t in; 3 Banker Bob- Elliott chose over the #2, inconsistent results; 2 Bodandy Andy- Gets multi-local driving champ Grismore; 9 Noble Fire- First time Aaron and should get a good trip.
Race 5: 4 Velvet Hall- Another chance after an uncharacteristic soft effort; 2 Golden Slippers- Another chance after an uncharacteristic break; 6 B Afflicted- Nothing uncharacteristic here.
Race 6: 9 Royal Cam Osborne- Improving, but she’s no Empress; 2 Yankeedoodledandee- If she’s forward early, races evenly; 5 Scooter In Motion- Decent local debut, consider.
Race 7: 2 Class Worker- Gets a catch driver, an Eidens “tell.” 1 Eagle Jacob- Gets class relief and has shown moderate work; 5 Poco Stormy- Actually the most consistent of these; 3 Rabbitman- Moves up off a good return in line to Charlino.
Race 8: 6 Mulebarn Bob- Appeared a different animal 1st time Noble; 5 He’s Fulla Chip- They opened up class for him, but sick scratch concerns; 9 Km Dream Kat- Opened the cap for her.
Race 9: 5 Garland’s Brat- Faces far softer here; 9 The Count- Grismore may be the key, even w/Dan C. choosing #5; 7 Filou Dream- Must use, although he sometimes tries to beat himself.
Race 10: 9 Littlereb- This one has been “Koching” for quite awhile; 4 Native Fate- Consistent, but win percentage is suspect; 5 Dalcroft Big Guy- Impressive in last and usually tries; 2 Deacon George- Needs to do better.
Race 11: 3 He’s All Fired Up- He’s the reason GGG is here, that’s enough for me; 9 Diehl’s Deal- Better chance of him winning than staying in the barn, both are big numbers; 6 Lotsa Help- Competes with his best, but now twelve, he doesn’t always fire.
Race 12: 4 Speak To Me Easy- Looking for a big effort 2nd time Aaron; 6 Real Sexy- Has to finish his miles stronger; 1 Don’t Miss The Show- Hoping the rail helps.
Race 13: 5 Sparks Of Gold- Gets class relief after showing good results against better; 1 Panpoint Accuracy- Rail helps immensely; 6 French Attack- Gets Aaron, but rarely wins; 9 Champagne Bliss- Let’s see if a fresh set of hands wake him up.
