Going out on a major limb in the big race, poicking Jackets Required to upset. He was injured earlier this year, with a tendon issue, and has bounced back well. He is fresh (a lot of these horses have 30 starts) and the back half in his last start was awesome. One More Laugh is a great horse, but will be 1-2, 1-5 or so and is not invincible, as we saw at Maywood and Delaware. Aracache Hanover loves the half and young Doug Mcnair is the real deal in the bike.
Super- 236/236/236/all. My trifecta will include a 236 box (duh) but I will also play a 23/236/12356.
I am at a family Chanukah celebration uyntil 8 PM or so, but will be on the air in the winners circle for most of the card. Stop by and say hello. I'll be the guy in a tux with a cigar.
Race 1: 9 Motorcycle Mike- Exceptionally sharp right now & has won from 9; 2 Mainline Hall- Shows good lines despite generally bad posts; 7 Soul Redeemer- Love this horse, hate this post,
Race 2: 4 Nordic Gentleman- Impressive debut for Charlino’s “choice;” 6 Dunkster- The class here, but on the downside; 2 Valley Of Vice- Couldn’t beat the choice last time, but better post.
Race 3: 6 Broadway Fame- Beat far better 2 back, my pick even w/Aaron choosing off; 5 Cunning Design- Looks for 3 in a row in a sharp form cycle; 2 Ata Ata- May need a local start.
Race 4: 3 Dance With Dan- Should get a decent trip, a slight choice; 2 Intrepid Aries- Moves back up after dominating lesser; 5 Doowrah’s Deal- Always hangs around, must use in tris and supers; 9 Misty’s Dignity- Could be better if he follows the two.
Race 5: 7 Buckeye Man- A hunch with David Miller driving; 6 Udontwantnunofthis- Charlino chose off, but he is super sharp; 9 That Fly’n Angel- May have difficulty with the second tier.
Race 6: 3 Jackson One- Solid with the move to this level last time; 6 Kinnick- Post may be a minor issue; 4 The Long Goodbye- Just gonna’ keep chasing my money.
Race 7: 4 Laughing Is An Art- Never saw the pylons last time, he beats these with a better trip; 2 Rapid City- Aaron chose the 4 over this one, my initial pick (and 5, 8); 3 Buttercup Bob- The David Miller factor; 1 Race Track Cruiser- Will be well forward early, how long can he last?
Race 8: 4 Bit O Looks- Kramp/Charlino has been a very solid combo; 3 R Cowboy- Should get a better trip with nose on gate; 7 This Sands Hot- Tons of class, but not so good from outside.
Race 9: 2 Category Six- Drops to level of his last win; 5 Whersmeluckycharms- Dominated in first stare for new connections; 9 Awesome Abe- Class drop really helped him last time.
Race 10: 1 Meritage Hanover- Consistent and a good draw, he gets the call; 3 Jenna’s Dream- Always does work and should get a good trip; 4 Little Gary Perry- Back racing at his best level; 9 Video Express- May need a local start to hit his best stride, but figures in the super, at least.
Race 11: 3 Jackets Required- McIntosh and Miller would not be wasting their time if he couldn’t compete & his last mile was monstrous; 2 One More Laugh- Clearly the best horse, but no value, I will be flipping my exactas and trifectas; 6 Aracache Hanover- Post hurts him, but he is quality and loves the half; 1 Valentino- Speedster will protect the rail.
Race 12: 2 Monkey Off My Back- Slight call in a very evenly-matched group; 5 Sharp Shuttle- Didn’t fire last time, another chance; 9 Auto Pilot- Snowman cost all chance in last, consider.
Race 13: 4 Beans And Weenies- Has really grown up over the last three months; 1 Major Degree- Best post draw since early fall; 6 Thunder Rises- My kingdom for a 30-day rule.
Race 14: 3 Sunburned Vern- Better post than last time may help him; 5 Rapid Pursuit- Drops to the level of last win, but Aaron chose the 3; 1 Perfect Door- Hasn’t drawn well since summer; 4 Step By Step- Was overmatched at $375, but can contend in this class.
