Here are the picks. First round of the state tournament as our Orange Lady Lions takes on the winless Streetsboro Rockets at The Lions Den at 7 PM, so Ayers or Barry or whoever will be doing the on air picks. I have dumped some likely Charlino faves because they will be way overbet. Doesn't mean they won't win, just that they are unplayable. As is thew 45 day off horse. Ridiculous Ohio racing rules. Race 1: 1 Forever American- Has speed and can upset if he minds his manners; 2 Tv Ghost- Just a hunch the grey is sitting on a big effort; 5 Step Around Brown- Improved in last, sort of.
Race 2: 2 Badehoughtoscream- Looks to be coming around and is in soft; 9 Moira’s Intended- May never win, but keeps getting checks; 4 Lady Abba- Another example of how the state of Ohio gets it wrong. Please bring back the thirty-day rule.
Race 3: 3 He Too Shall Pass- Gets a slight call based on perceived value over #5; 5 Imahonkyconchman- Had no excuse in last; 9 Count On Kate- Solid filly may be getting tired.
Race 4: 3 Hickory Hunter- Solid class relief and hasn’t been racing that badly; 5 Pembroke Touch- Big effort in local debut; 9 Rich Man Poor Man- Saves ground, earns check, on ticket; 1 Jennys Spirit- Rail may help her spirit.
Race 5: 3 Clayton Delaney- May have braved up with drop to the bottom; 2 R U A Looker- Will take $$$ but looked a bit flat in last; 7 High Gear Speed- Could surprise now with hopples.
Race 6: 2 Sublime Begonia- Is better than last two show; 1 Feel The Power- Has some speed & with rail it might be Miller time; 4 Genesis Challenger- Moves up but will be forward early.
Race 7: 9 Sunrise Sunset- Let’s see if Aaron steps her up; 3 Western Jack- Seems to be racing better with Kurt driving; 6 Jl Nate The Great- Moves up in good form, Robin is obligated to this one; 4 Lilly More Power- Best races have been with Charlino in the sulky.
Race 8: 4 Graduation Day- Loses the tag, but current form warrants a shot; 5 Scootin Jetta- Raced well in last for pere, now gets fils; 9 Cruisin The Waves- 1st time Charlino off Dover win.
Race 9: 4 Diehl’s Deal- So he got beat last start, he took pressure throughout; 2 Legacy Chip- Racing well and will want the front; 8 Fast As You- He may be, but post may slow him down.
Race 10: 2 Isa Devil- At least he has been competitive at the fairs; 6 Engine Hanover- At least he knows the track; 9 Mister Bruinski- 10 seconds faster than the choice on paper, but 0-10 on the board and will take huge $$$ with Dan; 5 Bad Boy Bunny- Previous local success.
Race 11: 3 Bit O Looks- Has won a lot, just not recently. Still looks best with Charlino; 2 Oh Heather- Improving when she doesn’t break; 6 Mr Sam- A bit flat in last, another chance tonight.
Race 12: 6 Grayson’s Choice- Has been solid & now we get 1st time Charlino angle; 2 Captain Johnny- Usually does work and draws well; 8 Dawn Of Trey- Best horse, worst post, ‘nuff said.
Race 13: 7 Hard Time Gone- When Dale goes to a catch driver, it’s money in the bank; 2 Bahama Bomber- Always does work, usually just not enough of it; 4 That’s Textbook- Have to consider, but so inconsistent; 1 Jennys Spirit- Should be able to wrap the super from the rail.
