Monday Madness

Trotting-bred pacers, pacing-bred trotters. Josh Cochran catch driving and Henry Beachy breaking down to pay a catch driver. Lebron leaving Cleveland has obviously thrown the entire world into a temporal warp or something. Next thing you now, Rick Plano will show back up at Vernon Downs...oh wait, he has. The world is going crazy. All I know is that I will continue trying to give you winners. Good luck!

Race 1: 3 Lima Darlin- Was knocking at the door prior to a credible OHSS effort; 4 Little Ms Sunshine- Needs to trot the whole mile, but has ability; 5 Weedly- Faced better in Ontario.

Race 2: 1 The Hef- As I have said before, if Henry calls on a catch-driver, you can go to the windows; 4 Heart Of A Diamond- Showed she fits when she finally drew something other than the snowman; 7 Blue Denim- Gotta love those trotting –bred pacers. Yikes.

Race 3: 2 He’s Fulla Chip- Most consistent of these, but just 1 of 24; 1 Sj’s Manawa Sam- Moves up off a win, rail is key; 3 Jack N Sam- May not like the smaller track, but fits otherwise.

Race 4: 5 I’ve Got Life- Closing in on half-a-million lifetime; 1 Jd’s Houdini- Stung in last, but rarely finishes his miles; 3 Magic Dart- Closing in on a quarter-million lifetime; 9 Ge’s Antonio- Closing in on $25K lifetime.

Race 5: 2 Abc Command- Gets class relief and nominally drops below level of last win; 4 Fly Thru The Hall- Class relief will help this one from a good trotting barn; 1 Fugeddaboudit- Doesn’t need to do much from the rail to wrap this trifecta. Moves up with any check in next.

Race 6: 3 Artistic Tribute- Has won four in a row at this level; 5 Jennys Spirit- Has been very competitive but faces a bearcat; 2 Dragon Fires K- Solid in this class and gets fresh hands.

Race 7: 5 Oaks Enforcer- Fractions fried this classy old guy in his last, another chance; 2 Eza Rich King- Moves up, but has been highly Sugg-cessful; 9 Canaco Kunota- Has been solid for young Ms. Melloy; 1 Candygram Sam- Seems better when inside, don’t they all?

Race 8: 6 Conductors Timeout- Moves up but we appear to be seeing a return to form; 2 The Perfect Man- More like the pretty-good man, but the old guy fits, so does his horse; 4 Athlete In Action- First-over trip just didn’t work out last time.

Race 9: 3 Steady Noire- Has done everything but win in her four career starts; 7 Moofalet- Keeps finding a way to get on the ticket; 8 Forgery- We have a Kelly O sighting, must consider with these connections

Race 10: 6 Ms Yankee Top- Good qualifier and she certainly needed a break; 5 Hillcrest Crystal- Has shown flashes of ability; 1 Jakey Boy- Trainer calls on a catch driver.

Race 11: 2 Victory Princess- Doesn’t win much, but sure races well every week; 6 Ben’s Pass- It’s the Henry calling on a catch-driver angel again; 5 Zest Express- Must leave, at least a little.

Race 12: 9 The Count- Insert a Sesame Street joke here, youngster with potential; 3 Sam Has Class- But not consistency, but still a factor with his best; 6 Forevervictorious- Has faced better.

Race 13: 1 Whiteascanbe- Still not wrapping my mind around the idea of Josh Cochran as a catch driver, but this one drops two classes below his last win; 9 Stand Tall Mcgraw- Can hang with these; 2 Lightiscape- Raced much better last time; 6 Pacificam- Stahl will work out a trip.
