Battle of Lake Erie Update

Well, it's been a quiet week here in Lake Woebegone, err, Northfield Park, my home track. But we do have a few updates for the July 3 Battle of Lake Erie.

Dave Bianconi is looking at Hypnotic Blue Chip, owned by Francis Azur and trained by Kevin McDermott, is now being looked at for one of two remaining spots in the Battle. He was 2nd in the $228,000 Bettor;s Delight at Tioga Downs in New York Sunday...
Won the West, also expected for the Battle, finished third in the big Tioga race, while Foiled Again's fourth-place finish pushed his career earnings over $1.5 million...
Stonebridge Terror was in action at Mohawk Raceway, near Toronto, Saturday night and his fourth-place finish pushed his career earnings over $600,000...
A number of top Battle probables, including Go Go Solano, locally owned by Solon's Rich Lombardo with Pasquale Rizzo and Southwind Lynx had the week off..
Pilgrim's Toner was second in a $32,000 Open pace at Chester Downs, near Philadelphia on Sunday... Speed, hoping to be the local Battle representative, was scratched sick from Northfield's Open Pace Saturday and nine-year-old Caramel Dumpling, trained by Calvin Hollar for owner Melissa Levan, is now hanging around the Battle picture. Caramel Dumpling is a closer and his racing style could allow him to contend with horses whose overall resumes may be more impressive...
Contender stats have been updated and next starts will be listed later this week. That information is available at http://www.northfieldpark.com/page.aspx?PageID=/promotions/battle_of_lake_erie
Contest Rules for the $10,000 cash giveaway on Battle of Lake Erie night are posted at http://www.northfieldpark.com/pdf/10,000giveawayrule.pdf
