Courageous Lady Card

Some highly competitive races tonight, with handicapping made tougher by the addition of Greg Grismore, Danny Noble, Tony Hall and Kevin Wallis to the mix.

The Courageous Lady is an interesting race. I have picked Sand Windsor who impressed the heck out of me Friday-- she could have won in 55 with me driving. The problem will be the 10 hole. But, with the other two favorites inside, I think she will be able to "Shoot the gap" and be somewhat forward early. I am hoping that Virgil is just trying to teach Hawk's Cry Electra to race in a hole, but the 2:02 Q is worrisome, as were her fractions in the Hackett. I am told Cowboys Dreamer can leave like a rocket and will be on the front, but I am not sure I believe that. There are several very green horses who could step up at any time, and that means probably hitting the all button for third and fourth, as much as it pains me to do so. Good Luck!

Race 1: 9 Moira’s Intended- This is her “Courageous Lady,” with Tony Hall driving; 5 Mother Superior- $7200 is a lot to pay for a maiden at Delaware, so they must like something; 2 At Daybreak- Decent two-year-old starts sophomore campaign with Grismore at the helm.

Race 2: 1 Victory Is Coming- Not sure what the bottom is, but her Q was dang impressive; 3 Iloolikevada- Lifetime best win in last, sharp; 5 Norma’s Rose- Seems appropriate on this night.

Race 3: 3 The Big Wazzoo- In an upward form cycle, mild choice; 5 Black Oliver- Drops to level of last win and could take this; 1 Big Head Hundreds- Was competitive in class 5 & 6 back.

Race 4: 3 Mainline Hall- Returns to the barn of his greatest success; 2 Goatcoat George Tm- Solid at this level, but not winning lately; 1 Saltea’s Sanjay- Always hangs around, may go forward for Hall; 5 Heez Ruthless N- Better when he is a bit further inside.

Race 5: 6 Inquisitive Me- At the level of his last win and Tony brings him home here; 4 Knockout Sahbra- Sticks in my head that Gris has had success with him before; 2 Robin Dontget- Stahl chose over the 4 and 5.

Race 6: 1 Polo Joe- Razor sharp and should win again; 3 Brandond’s Art- The major threat; 4 Samcin- Very impressive in only recent Northfield attempt.

Race 7: 6 Kinnick- Barn change won’t matter with Dan C; 4 Dd Cam Ram- Should put in a Noble effort; 3 Eye Of The Dog- Consistent; 5 Varitek- Was looking better ‘til last, T. Hall helps.

Race 8: 3 Category Six- Double class drop should get him home; 2 Cruise On Osborne- Good first out, but moves up and faces better; 5 Caramel Dumpling- Should be flying late yet again.

Race 9: 4 Crewcut Hanover- Cruised for GGG at ScD, I am “Steck” on this one; 5 Road Storm- Fits well with this draw; 1 Blue My Mind- Needs a breather at some point.

Race 10: 4 Muscle Sprouts- Risky choice in a race full of speed, but he is fastest; 7 Anastasia Willie- Can race from behind, a necessity here; 9 Mom’s A Hustler- Closer figures to get the fractions she needs; 1 Nora’s Dream T- Moves up racing well, should get the two-hole trip.

Race 11: 8 Painted Speed- A tough assignment for April’s HOTY; 2 Lite Me Up- Pushed Poker Hat throughout last week; 3 Delivered Rules- Has been consistent

Race 12: $109,000 Miller Lite Courageous Lady- 10 Sand Windsor- Impressed me last week and will be a decent price with this draw, may shoot the gap; 2 Cowboys Dreamer- $10K supplement may not like the shorter stretch, can she leave? 1 Hawk’s Cry Electra- Some slow fractions are a worry; 4 Miss Sand Creek- Fresh and could be anything.

Race 13: 7 Muhammad Ali N- Moves up, but Gris gets along with him well; 5 Artistic Dreamer- Inconsistent, but contends with his best; 4 Noble Cruiser- Class relief and third start back.

Race 14: 2 I’ve Got Life- Moves up and Dan chose off, but gets Gris; 3 One Eyed Willie- Class dropper is 1st time Aaron; 7 Bodandy Andy- Post is a question mark; 5 Spirit Freeluck- Drops below the level of his last win, but recent form is poor.
