Here are Tuesdays picks

I will comment on cigar taxes and the NCAA March Madness later, however the NCAA HAS announced that starting in 2010, ALL mid major schools will have to contest play in games, while any BCS conference team that actually finishes its season will get into the Big Dance -more to follow.

A tough card with lots of questions:

Race 1: 2 Cadillacconnection- Has been more like a Yugo lately, but woke up a bit dropping to this level in last; 4 Water Twice-Beat the #3 (7-2ML) last week and hangs around every week; 3 Johnnyisajohnny- Gets some class and post relief but has show little of late.

Race 2: 3 Sweet Potatoe- Moves up but gets Stahl for King Conger; 1 Isn’t She Precious- Solid, especially at this level from the rail; 4 Kipling Avenue- Has been rejuvenated for/by Clark.

Race 3: 2 That’s Textbook- Drops to the level of an impressive win 6 back; 3 Elmo’s Blaze- No chance from outside in last two at the bottom, back class; 5 Kcc Thunder- Good work in last.

Race 4: 8 See Buns- Longshot special – will be closing late into ridiculously fast splits; 1 Southwind Menlo- Raced well in local debut, gets rail; 6 Komodo Island- The 57-second front halves don’t concern me as much as the 1:02 back halves; 5 Zeus’s Spirit- Fresh hands. Again.

Race 5: 3 Dancen S J- Speedster drops to a level where he might hang on; 2 Praying For A Win- Newcomer could be anything, gets Merriman; 5 American Challenge- Always races well for Matt K, who turns 21 on Thursday.

Race 6: 6 The Mame Event- Huge win off a year-plus playoff, repeats; 1 Colby D- Racing well and has huge upside; 9 Moonlight Red- May be in a bit too tough here.

Race 7: 3 Bos Laughin- Has raced much better since Kakaley took over; 1 Tricky Tactics- Has found gate speed of late and gets the rail; 2 Hard Time Gone- Inconsistent, but best post since Bush was President; 5 Gun-it- Back at the level of the win three back, a factor.

Race 8: 4 Frosty Two Four- Break cost win in last, another chance; 6 Cg’s Lady- Racing very consistently and fits well with these; 3 Panda CafĂ©- 6 of last 6 on the board, must use on trifecta.

Race 9: 2 Kaydex- A lukewarm call in a lukewarm group; 4 Big Head Hundreds- Continues to move forward for Kurt; 1 K C Rudy Dude- Hard to ignore that 1:57.3 win three back, even if Aaron chose to the 8 over this one and my top choice.

Race 10: 6 Go Again- Super sharp and should roll here; 2 Knockout Sahbra- Races well when drawing inside and Stahl’s choice over 1 & 4; 3 A J Cress- Not a lot of pop, but always hanging around; 7 Coalford Admiral- Decent in return, should continue to improve.

Race 11: 5 Contradiction- Only horse who can beat him is Contradiction, wins with a flat mile; 2 Three Good Fellows- Consistent and Matt has other reasons for choosing off; 1 Dummy Jones- Needs to stay flat, but could get a perfect trip.

Race 12: 5 Sinner’s Last Pride- Drops and Matt K choses him over the 9; 9 Screamin Scooter- Not exactly an impressive Q; 1 Dewy Soakum N Howe- Gets rail and has a recent show effort.

Race 13: 4 Validated Parking- Super sharp right now and often ignored at windows; 6 Eye Of The Dog- Getting better with each start; 9 Make Me Proudchico- Double class drop off a flat effort in last; 3 Hoosier Lion- Gets Kakaley and could surprise.

We have been slumping a bit lately but rebounded with a 6-bagger Tuesday.
Most importantly, it was the 2nd staright night we posted a $20+ winner. Tuesday it was Dancen J ($21.20), Monday we had Ryans Hall ($21.00) As a value player (and my definition of value is a lot more liberal than many) one 9 or 10-1 winner equals a million 1-2 chalks, since I would never bet those horses flat; there would be little values in the exactas and I rarely play trifectas at all.
