So, even the blind squirrel finds an acorn once in awhile-- our Pick 5 saver ticket, leaving Bytemetoni off, hits and pays $$1757 for our $48 investement. Maybe my economy will be better under an Obama Presidency. Except, that, of course, I did not play it with real money.
Still not bad for a night of (generally) short priced winners. Hope you played along-- it seems my picks may be heating up just a bit.
Here are my Wednesday picks-- I do not have a strong feel for this card. Some days, I look at the program and feel pretty solid about my picks (which still often lose), but there is something about tonight that I am not certain about, so proceed with caution.
Race 1: 5 Card Shark De Vie- class dropper gets Shetler; 1 Nl Nuclearmedicine-post is key for this one; 2 A Firm Kisser-shows little, but gets Kakaley.
Race 2: 9 Lima Honor- credible stakes performer; 5 Kams Sure Shot- getting better with each start; 4 Iconic Style- bid based on Stahl
Race 3: 4 Rose Run Freddie- much better since Aaron took over; 1 Mystical Victor- stalking sort draws well; 6 Thunder Shower- pitch last start and he figures solidly
Race 4: 6 Rock N Roll Pan-lukewarm choice; 4 Osborne's Jet- will be an overbet fave; 9 Provara's Best -overmatched in last; 1 Noble Fire- gets the rail
Race 5: 5 Non Step Fella N- May be short, but Majeski is decent; 1 Squirt The Milkman- third back and improving; 2 Sic Em Tiger-wins out of the trash bin tonight
Race 6: 3 David Erol- Kakaley/Hershberger unbeaten of late (okay, they're 1 for 1); 1 Cable Beach-draws well and the class was opened up for him; 4 Farbe-Wake up call in last
Race 7: 3 Aviator Bluegrass- big class relief; 5 Machmachwhosethere- Always tries, not the handiest; 1 Sporty Moran-post may help here; 8 -Thisooldartofmine- must overcome post, but Aaron chose him over the 9-2 Ryans Hall
Race 8: 6 Lo And Behold- needs to be aggressive off the wings; 9 Bankers Dream- 2nd tier a question mark; 1 Touch of Nay-racing very well; 4 Royal Cat-consistent and good connections
Race 9: 4 Bacon Hill Bandit- best bet-hopefully no bounce; 3 Count Masone- solid; 1 Rabbitman-needs to hop out quickly with class jump
Race 10: 3 Omar Pheenny-Kakaley listed on the half of these, here is his choice; 2 A J Cress-finally a competitve post draw; 4 Class Worker- could surprise; 5 Covered Connection- AGrees with Shetler
Race 11: 9 Hog Wild Rodeo- Sizzling hot; 3 Robin Dontget- racing well; 8 Romances Thunder- he's no AAJ, but fits well here
Race 12: 1 Thebigguyfromtown- Kakaleys choice gets the rail; 6 Make Me Proudchico- waking up at this level; 3 Tis A Happy Heart- decent effort in Route Eight oval debut
Race 13: 4 Barratry-not sure if Matt chose off or has to drive the 7; 7-Increase Profit- Must overcome the outside; 1 Travel Bug N- Has had success with Aaron in the past; 3 Eastwood Atom N-old guy could finish off the ticket (I will ask the judges about Kakaley's obligation or if he is just showing loyalty and will discuss on air)

As an FYI, I did check with Presiding Judge Lester Teeters, and he confirmed that Matt Kakaley is employed by the Burke Stable. Therefore, he is obligated to drive the Burke-trained horses when he is listed, and does not have a choice.
