The flu-like symptoms finally got to me Wednesday and I was out sick yesterday. I couldn't not even focus on the television, let alone a racing program, so I didn't watch TVG while laying on the coach, let alone checking out any of the NCAA Conference tourney action. The rain is here now and the snow is melting and although temps will be in the40s, I will be doing my picks in-studio tonight, in a desperate, but likely futile attempt to keep my respiratory system functioning with a mosicum of normalcy.

Wendy Ross will be working with me tongiht and although we have only had one night working together, I really enjoy the two-host show. It gives us a chance to play off each other a bit, taking some pressure off her and giving me some feedback. Of course, it is still just as important to give out good information. She has a different perspective. She is the daughter of Jerry Ross, Jr., and owns horses that race at The Meadows. She is also the outrider at Tioga Downs. She seems to have a good eye for bad-acting horses in her handicapping, which is pretty good based on the form. As she gets used to the weekend horses, I think she will become better with the nuances of each race-- she watches them more closely than I do, (especially during hoops tourney time, lol) -- and I think she will give out a lot of winners in her two month internship here.
